It’s a snow day, dude!

A South Park action RPG that is winter-themed, and also available to pre-order during the Winter Sale? How the stars have aligned!

From South Park Digital Studios and THQ Nordic comes SOUTH PARK: SNOW DAY! – the all-new 3D co-op game in which you’ll join Cartman, Stan, Kyle, and Kenny to celebrate the most magical day in any young child’s life - a snow day!

The game is available to pre-order right now in its Standard and Digital Deluxe Edition. By doing so (no matter which version you choose), you’ll receive the Underwear Gnome Cosmetics pack including the Underwear Gnome hat, a stylish beard, and a green tunic.

Let’s take a look at what this title has to offer!

You can play SOUTH PARK: SNOW DAY! with up to three of your friends, or by using matchmaking to find someone to play. And if playing solo is more your style, you can certainly do so with ally bots.

Here’s what you can expect:

A battle through the snow-piled town of South Park.
Frenetic, action-packed combat against warring factions in an all-new story where you make the rules.
A plethora of upgradable, devastating melee and ranged weapons, as well as special abilities and powers that will bring hordes of enemies and epic bosses to their knees.
A wide range of iconic cosmetics to customize your New Kid with endless possible combinations.
A day when school is canceled.

Now that sounds like a blast, doesn’t it?

Pre-order SOUTH PARK: SNOW DAY! now and make use of the bonus!
From the trailer I seriously can't figure out what the gameplay is. Is it like a moba? Is it like XCOM? Towerdefense? Third person shooter? What is it?

Also would like to know if there's support for LAN. Always gives me 100% more incentive to buy if it's not mandatory to rely on external servers and it can be played on a LAN many years from now.

SargonAelther: Please consider releasing Alone in the Dark 2008 on GOG too, wink wink, nudge nudge.
I also want this!
Well, it let me preorder/purchase the Digital Deluxe, but the release date was changed from today to sometime in March. Hmmm.....I can wait....but, where did the page for Deluxe Edition go?

That's true, I just sort of assumed it's an RPG liek Stick of Truth only in 3D, because looking like the actual show made too much sense I guess... but from the gameplay trailer it looks more like some... 3rd person action.... thing? Not sure how it actually plays, but it definitely looks way worse than the two previous 2D RPGs.

Exactly. Honestly, the trailer does a terrible job at showing what the game IS. It's funny and interesting and all that, in that way it does sell the game, but it's really bad when the potential customer has ZERO idea what the hell the game is. We're far from the only ones, either - I tried Googling to find out what the game is actually about, and I found a Reddit thread about it where someone who expressed the same confusion had more than 100 upvotes.

On top of that, all the text they've wrote on the sales page / product page also says NOTHING about actual gameplay - just coop, classes, weapons and customization. Okay, cool, but... WHAT IS IT?

So weird, never seen a game being sold so vague. I'm kinda dumbfounded.
I much prefer the RPGs (particularly the first one made by Obsidian) but what are you gonna do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Even though some would say it doesn't look too awesome (I think it looks great!! nice winter vibes and all) huge kudos to THQ Nordic/Question for bringing us a 3d south park game since oh boy those from the past were complete failures.
Boy does this bring back memories. I mean I didn't play the game since I was a baby when the 1998 game came out but I do remember a friend having it.

Erm... what are you talking about? This game hasn't even been released yet.

Oh. Didn't even know about that one. Man, it's crazy how long this show has been on.

RizzoCuoco: [...] Is it truly being released today? What time? I'm all set to download. [...]
I don't think anybody opens up a game for pre-orders on the same day it's set to be released. If the release date on the store page originally said today, it was almost certainly just a short-term goof on GOG's part. (Never any shortage of those.) :)
Hi, I'll take the role of the obligatory sourpuss who thinks that South Park is a cultural nadir and has lead to a lot of youths with a negatively nihilistic outlook.

As opposed to... a positively nihilistic outlook?

Anyway, like I said I'm not a big fan of South Park, but I wish we lived in a world where it is the low point of popular culture, the same way I wish I lived in a world where Nickelback really is the worst band.
