The infectious commitment to life.

Shardlight, the post-apocalyptic adventure of a young woman desperately looking to cure herself, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount.

Amy was five when the bombs dropped. This broken, severely oppressed, and hopelessly depressed world is all she knows. Now, twenty years after the catastrophe, people are still dying in the streets stricken by poverty and disease, while the corrupt aristocrats control the regulation of the cure in exchange for cheap labor and obedience.

Amy is sick herself but she is not about to go out with a whimper. She'd rather rattle the shaky foundations of a government that has people like her slaving away for a chance at a vaccination. All around her, among the ruins of what humanity once was, people are scavenging for scraps of a better tomorrow that seems to keep moving further and further out of reach. But not Amy. She is determined to fight for her life, even if she has to pay the ultimate price.

Point'n'click at the bowels of a terminally ill world and find a cure to your ailment in Shardlight, DRM-free on GOG.com. If you have the bonus fevers, go ahead and grab Shardlight - Special Edition, which includes the game's OST, voice-over outtakes, a concept art gallery, wallpapers, and other delicious goodies, or opt to upgrade later. The 10% launch discount will last until March 15, 4:59 PM GMT.

groze: Isn't Nathaniel Chambers the guy who made the music for Primordia, too? Or am I mistaken?
You're right according to their web site
"Digital soundtrack—three hours of post-apocolyptic tunes composed by Nathaniel Chambers (Primordia)"

Thank you all for giving me some more inside into the people who devceloped this game. As it has been said before there is not much you can do wrong by buying a WE game - not if you're into p&c adventures. Will buy this but not now since I have so many games to play and so little time to do so :)

MarkoH01: I could not find anything on their web site but is this really developed by Wadjet Eye or are they just publishing the game (like many before)? I know that WE stands for quality but I always liked the ones they made themselves even a bit more.
Hi! Dave of Wadjet here coming out of lurker mode to answer some questions!

Shardlight was written and designed by our in-house designer, Francisco Gonzalez. The art was made by our in-house artist, Ben Chandler. The music was composed by freelancer Nathaniel Chambers (who is also known for his work on Primordia). I took more of a producer/supervisor role. So to answer your question, it *is* a "Wadjet Eye" game, but not a "Dave Gilbert" game.

Hope that helps!

-Dave

Thank you Wadjet Eye & GOG for bringing Shardlight here. ^.^
I expect to enjoy it, but I pre-ordered regardless of that, and I don't usually pre-order or even buy at release day for full price, and I don't like the practice of rewarding pre-orders either, but this is WadjetEye games! Even in the unlikely case that I'll end up not liking it, these guys deserve the money. I've played so many great AGS games by Ben, Francisco and Dave for free, and so far I've never been disappointed by any WadjetEye release, no matter how diverse they were. And if it's contributing to Dave Gilbert getting the chance to create another game of his own, all the better! So a big thank you to everyone involved, and I wish you success! :)

Right on. For some reason I thought this was another one of your collaboration projects. Either way, I've thoroughly enjoyed all of your adventure games thus far, so I'm very much looking forward to this one.

Gemini Rue still remains my favorite though. I even like the shootouts for adding a bit more to the mix. :)

Second that!

Also - the game looks great and I am jumping for it right away, but to be honest I didn't really like Golden Watch. I hope this one will be more in line of what I like in a story :)
Wadejet always delivers quality when it comes to Point and Clicks. Looking forward to it
Insta-Pre-Ordered - of course. Was waiting so long for it.
Thanks GOG for another day-1 release (what about Deponia Doomsday???).

And thanks to Dave for another great (I'm sure) point'n clicker from Wadjet Eye games, and for a lot of extras. I love especially the concept art and of course the music.
A good start into a new month.
This looks awesome. I loved Primordia, and the setting reminds me of that. Still want another game with Horatio and Crispin though.

Miiiight pre-order...
Bought it straight away! I'm really excited to play this one. Wadjet Eye games are always awesome, and they're the only company whose games I always pre-order without hesitation.
B-b-but I didn't even play Technobabylon a.k.a. "mindblowin' game that will tear your mind out" right...
Why, Wadjet Eye, why? Heck I barely remember how Primordia ended... felt the urge to play it once more and now there's another yummy game around?
B'SOD!!!! ;D
I never preorder games, but I made an exception with Technobabylon and I'll make another with Shardlight.
And no, I still haven't played Technobabylon.
Nice, I really enjoyed the Blackwell games.
Excellent! WLed!
