Breja: I'd rather keep the looter part, I had a whale of a time with it in SW2.
NuffCatnip: I'm not saying I haven't enjoyed my time with the game (most of the time at least), but at times it felt like an RPG with guns rather than a real FPS.
That sounds super weird to me, but I guess it only goes to show how such terms have become near meaningless today. I mean, no offence, but to me saying that a game where you spend 100% of your time shooting things, has no other mechanics than those for shooting things, no story choices (and a super thin story overall), no character customisation, no character stats, and basically no way to, you know, roleplay, is more like an RPG than a shooter because it has loot is just crazy.
Not that I see why it being more like an RPG would be a bad thing, even if I considered it even remotely true. I kinda feel like FPS fans are very, very strict in how they see FPS games should be. It often feels like a particularly grognard-y bunch. Basically shooters should forever be stuck in the 90s, preferably never moving past Unreal (or even Doom, for extra hardcore true FPS fan points).
Edit: the fact there are people here butthurt enough to downvote people simply for stating we liked SW2 is the best proof of the above :D
