So i managed to see this ! it seems i was right to put SS4 on hold and tbh i have always mistrusted Croteam since Gaben has made them his own little bitches.

There's enough games coming and have come here recently so i wouldn't miss this game, Croteam are not special so they can get back in fucking line.

Truth007: what happened?
They seem to have trouble updating The First Encounter as discussed above and now want to sell 4 here, my temper is also thin today so i try to write how i feel in a polite manner as i did above.

I'm just tired of shitty and steam worshipping devs.

A russian modder made a patch in 2015 which got released on Steam that includes proper support for widescreen aspect ratios, multiplayer redirected from Gamespy to some community server and editor compatibility on 64 bit systems. It is not included in the GOG version. When it comes to official patches, GOG has the latest version (1.05 IIRC) which is the original CD release with the patch that came out in December 2001.

But you can get all the relevant files from here and just replace the ones in the GOG version to get it. The thread also contains all the details about the current situation.

Hmm not too bad after all thx, still worried about their love for workshop though.

As long as the publisher/devs officially let the update happen on Steam I would call this mod official patch. It's nothing you have to download seperately and legally getting those files from somewhere else is pirating (you are simply downloading the Steam files). So I would not say that this is a "solution" at all. If this would be a solution none of the outdated games here on GOG would be a problem. Just download them from Steam instead ;)

It is also available at moddb, intended for people with the CD version (which is what GOG has). So it is not exclusive to Steam. I tried it with my CDs and it works. Thus, I wouldn't call it piracy in any conceivable way. As I said, it was originally a community patch that just got a release on Steam.

It would be great to have it here by default, not arguing there, but it is not such a catastrophe you are making it out to be. I agree though, that the way they reacted to your query definitely could have been less aggressive.

Ah, yes. If you can in fact download the official mod it's bit of a different thing - thanks for the explanation. Still won't buy future games from them because of their attidude. There are enough decent devs out there I rather support.

Is this only for the First Encounter or does it also work for Second Encounter?

Thank you. :)
ugh, i hate it when devs do this.extremely unprofessional in my opinion.

i was really looking forward to serious sam 4 too.
Yes, quite worrying really. Have pre ordered SS4 here as do like the series, but with 2&3 and the HD varie the missing from here and the lack of the patches, this has got me to thinking about refunding.
