omega64: It should be, the game has a new translation.
The not anymore existing German translation? ;)
Just another reason to dislike the way this upgrade is been handled.

Has it been GOGs or the publishers decision to remove the original game from sale?

From my understanding, new buyers of the game will also get the original version, as well.

Yes, but you cannot buy the original version separately.

So far I've seen two methods for handling the upgrade of a game. Either a kind of in-place upgrade, where the game page is kept under the same name and the new version is just added to the game downloads for free (and the original version is kept as a bonus) like it's been done with Outcast or Seven Kingdoms 2.
Or the upgraded version is sold separately, as a "new" game, and the original version is still available for purchase, like it's been done for Baldur's Gate.

This upgrade is like combining the worst of both of the above methods, the original game version vanishes from GOGs game pages and is not available separately anymore and the owners of the original game either have to pay additional money for the upgraded version (which at least for German speaking players is a regression) or are left alone with a version which is not documented and existing on GOG anymore.

Edit:

Ok, if the upgrade is free now for owners of the original game than that kinda fits for method 1 above (although it better could have been done without the hassle of changing the game page and losing all the original information) and my anger about the handling of this upgrade is gone. :)

Thanks a lot, GOG!
