Prayers could not help. Science could not help. Can you?

<span class="bold">Pathologic Classic HD</span>, the glorious return of a cult classic, is available for pre-order DRM-free on GOG.com with a 25% discount - if you own the original release, you can get a whopping 70% off the HD release until the end of times.

To take advantage of the -70% deal, simply locate your discount code alongside the original Pathologic on your GOG.com game shelf.

Pathologic is a psychological first-person survival game, a unique, unforgettable experience. You arrive at a peculiar, desolate town ravaged by an unstoppable plague - a peculiar place to begin with - from this point on you're free to traverse the open world and put all the pieces together. But if there's one thing to say about Pathologic, is that it was the ultimate bittersweet experience. For all its disturbing atmosphere, open world survival, and uniqueness - technical issues and a budget translation stood between the title and mainstream fame.

Now, Pathologic Classic HD is here with the cure. A completely new, in-house English script promises a worthy experience, while revamped visuals, new voiceovers, and more content breathe a new life into the incredible cult-classic. If you ever considered picking up this title, now's the time to finally enter the world of Pathologic.

Pre-order <span class="bold">Pathologic Classic HD</span> today, DRM-free on GOG.com - all owners of the original Pathologic game on GOG.com can pick up the new release with permanent 70% discount.
Including the original? I'd love it if Divinity would do that! I want to get the original Source Hunter DLC!! :D

On this game, I'll give it a pass for now. But it does look interesting!!

eiii: I don't know yet if it's worth to get the upgrade when you have the original game. But what I absolutely hate is that the game page of the original game has been removed without any forewarning and is not accessible anymore. Damn, GOG, do not remove those pages. Set them "read-only", display them only to the game owners or whatever, but DO NOT DELETE them! All the information about the original game is lost now.

You surely do not put me in the mood to buy the upgrade with such kind of actions. :/

deonast: Yep they should allow you to link back to the original page to look at. I tend to save (don't bite me on copyright gog) a copy of the pages in my game download directory for reference as you never know. Sadly I'm well behind in downloading my games.
I totally agree for saving those pages but even more for saving the original game, avalible for purchase or as a bonus in HD version. But speaking of web pages thanks to Internet Archive Wayback Machine we can still dig up (most of) original game page:

Pathologic

If somebody doesn't know about Wayback Machine it is brilliat piece of web archive where you can find backups of, I don't know 90%(???) ;), of the internet pages! :D

jefequeso: Didn't get the 70% discount despite owning the original. Don't care. If I'm going to spend money, I'd like to spend it on insane Eastern European janky atmospheric first person games, because there need to be WAY more of those than there are now.

timppu: Did you use the discount code from your Pathologic download page? You should have redeemed that, not buying the HD version normally.
Oops, guess that was the problem.

Again, don't really care. I'm fine giving money to games like this :)

Good point I had forgotten about the wayback machine

LynetteC: The 70% discount code worked fine for me, except that I appeared to get the game for free!

It turns out when I submitted the code it took the balance from my store credit instead of going to the payment option screen. :-(
Are you sure that's what happened? It showed the same thing for me and I seem to have actually gotten the game for free. I had $0.90 store credit before redeeming the code, and still have $0.90 now.

Okay, not that I'm complaining, but to add on to the others talking about getting it free, so did I... and I don't have a store credit balance at all (what with being in the US and all). I entered the code, clicked the button to claim a game, and it went in to my account, no payment asked for.

I just used my "70% off" code as well. There was no request for additional payment. The game icon was added to my library, as were *some* of the extras (wallpapers, avatars, concept art).

Did we get the actual game? I guess we won't know until the game is released. Maybe instead of the game showing up, another discount code will be posted...

I don't know. I'm confused.

Maybe it's a temporary thing to make up for the codes not working yesterday? I tried several hours last night and couldn't get the code to show, so when it worked for free today, I thought it was a gesture by GOG.com. Then again, they'd probably have announced that somewhere.

Exactly. I would have thought if it was a gift to make up for the issues yesterday (which I did experience) that they would have said something. They made a point of doing so recently with the Wasteland 2 upgrade issues.

Also, on my receipt the discount code was still specifically named:

"DISCOUNT – G3L8 - PATHOLOGIC 70% OFF BONUS CODE - DEV COST"

Fairfox: Presumably the soundtrack et al will appear in our accounts after the game is launched (at the moment there's just wallpapers, avatars and concept art). It'll be nice to compare it to the original soundtrack, since that's also included within the original set of 'Goodies'.
I think that the soundtrack and the other goodies described in the game's page are only for the original version and the only extras of the Classic HD version are the ones currently available (those three are the ones that say "Pathologic Classic HD" in parentheses).

drealmer7: Oh F yes!!! Wow, I had no idea (I don't read about games, really.) You've made my day (might have been week if I weren't going to see Loreena McKennit this week!) And not just because you complimented my beautiful stuffed beaver.
He he, you're welcome mate. I'm really glad it got you all excited about the release. :)

drealmer7: AND 70% off the redo FOREVER. WOWsa. This is exciting. I was poopooing a "new version", as I consider redoings mostly blasphemous (Apocolypse Now Redux is actually okay in my book though!) Not anymore!!!
I fully agree that Apocalypse Now Redux is a worthwhile experience although I still much prefer the original version. I'm happy as long as Coppola doesn't go full Lucas by making the latter unavailable. Thankfully, the good folks at Ice-Pick Lodge understand that and have not only preserved the original version of their game but also acknowledged its fans by offering the HD one at a great discount. That's highly commendable.
