Abe's Oddysee reconstructed.

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty, a critically acclaimed restoration of Abe's Oddysee, is available for pre-order now on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, with a 10% pre-order discount!

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty earns the right to call itself a true remake. It's so much more than just a graphical upgrade, it's a modern retelling of the unforgettable experience that Abe's Oddysee was all these years ago. The unsettlingly beautiful visuals, the disturbingly odd universe, and the unforgivingly difficult gameplay were enough to leave a lasting impression on anyone who encountered Abe's Oddysee. Seventeen years later, Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty retains the setting, the sounds, and the flavor; all brought up to modern platforming par, and beyond, with updated controls, refined mechanics and a reconstructed experience.

If you pre-order, you'll also receive two pieces of New 'n' Tasty DLC for free:
-Bonus level: Alf's Escape
-Alternative costume: Scrub Abe

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty makes a tremendous impression, rose-tinted glasses not required. You can pre-order it now, DRM-free on GOG.com!

darthspudius: Should maybe start explaining it more out loud to people, I don't think they quite "get it". :P
We're happy to let people find out what the game's really like for themselves, mostly. That said, the reviews for the PS4 version were amazing and we were delighted. :)
Pretty colors :D I usually stay away from pre-orders, but I'll give this one a shot if I get the money in time .
OS requirements are a bit confusing, and potentially misleading.

GOG says:
Works on:
Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8), Mac OS X (10.8.5+) and Linux (Ubuntu 14.04, Mint 17)

But underneath the minimum requirements say:
Minimum system requirements - Windows: Windows 7

So which WIndows OSes does this actually work on?

2015 has been lovely to great remasters: Grim Fandango, Fahrenheit and now Abe's Oddysee, even though the latter seems more like a remake to me, I suppose. Like the description says, it's more of a restoration.
Way to go, all three (DF, Aspyr and Just Add Water) developers!
Truly passionate folks.

edit: finished GF and Farenheit already and I can call these restorations, yes, but done the right way! Ecce homo!

Most likely, it's a placeholder, because the minimum on Steam are Windows 7.

I'm quite curious if there is different control options? From the reviews I have read said that the jump button combo was a pain in the neck. Is there options to correct this?
Regionally priced and pre-order exclusive in-game content? Can't get much worse than this...

It's not pre-order exclusive, just free with the pre-order :)

So will we be able to buy it later on as seperate DLC or some Complete Edition?

I think "can't get much worse than this" is a little strong, but regardless, the two DLCs are absolutely NOT pre-order exclusive. It's just that they're free if you pre-order.

One is a costume for Abe, the other is an entirely new level called Alf's Escape. Neither are fundamental to the game, they're entirely optional.

They're both available to buy later if you want to.

Yes. We have introduced "old school" controls that let you hop forward with a single button now, along with an option to force Abe to walk unless another button is pressed to run.

Great thanks! Since I do not really like to support games that have pre-order exclusives. Of course giving some content bonus for pre-ordering can be a tad annoying but as long as no one is excluded from getting the content I can live with that ;-)

That is very good to know, thank you for letting me know. :)
I can't think of this game without thinking of this...

Forgive me then, rephrasing:

Regionally priced and free pre-order in-game content bait?

Doesn't sound much better to me.
