No Man's Sky a science-fiction game set in an infinite procedurally generated galaxy, is available to pre-order now — DRM-free on GOG.com

Intergalactic travel changes the notion of time. Unimaginable speeds connect impossibly distant worlds, dilating lifetimes, blending generations. A round-trip may find your world aged and unrecognizable, separated from your loved ones, irrevocably alien. In an intergalactic society, only the few set off towards the stars — explorers, those unafraid and with nothing to lose. They set off never to come back as far as our lifetimes are concerned. And thus, we still look up at an infinite sky, now within our reach, yet still untouched — a no man's land, a No Man's Sky.

No Man's Sky promises discovery of an infinite, uncharted universe. Its billions of stars, planets, unknown living creatures, breathtaking sights and lonely wastelands — all seamlessly connected — populated with explorers drawn to the distant mysteries of the horizon, eager to leave a permanent mark in their wake.
The frontier is merciless and dangerous. Exposed to a universe of extremities in your fragile suit and ship, you'll need resources and upgrades to get far — as well as the means stand your ground in fight.
Whether you journey to the center of it all or seek out the farthest reaches of existence, the trip will not be simple or dull. You'll catalogue things unseen, discover alien artifacts and reveal mysteries of the universe. If you survive.

The pre-order incentive for No Man's Sky includes the Horizon Omega ship — faster engines, better guns, all to kickstart your trip and help you survive longer on the interstellar journey.

Reach out and touch the No Man's Sky, available for pre-orders now, DRM-free on GOG.com! The game is scheduled to be released on June 21st in North America, June 22nd in Europe and Australia, and June 24th in the UK and Rest of World.

Maxvorstadt: Yep, nearly 60 Euros for a beta test version is extremely expensive. It`s good that my PC can`t handle it, so I don`t even have to think about buying it! :D
It's a pre-order, not an In Dev game.

kingpred: Is there any real reason why this isfor me in Norway, 20 dollars more here (575 NOK) on GOG than on Steam.. (400 NOK)?
I noticed that as well (hard not to). Ideally I want to have my games at gog.com instead of steam, but with price differences like this it was not really an option buying this game in the GOG store.

Konrad: Nope, this is a first. I'm pretty sure this is meant to coincide with brick-and-mortar release dates.
avatar
JMich: Grumble, now to see which release dates to use in the spreadsheet...
I'd go with the earliest release date.
.... Omg.

I did not in my wildest imagination expect this game to come here.

..wait, - $67?? -That price is a bit steep, don't you think?

This combined with a windows only title makes it less likely I'm going to preorder, alas.
I'll probably read some reviews first, and if it is good enough I'll buy it right away - or wait for a sale later.
One way or another, this one will end up on my hard drive ;o)

Dayum. Nice catch GOG. Wishlisted!
Next candidate on the Gog release schedule : Train Simulator 2016 plus all its DLCs .
This looks pretty cool. No Linux, and way out of my budget, but it sure looks cool.

Smannesman: Interesting, but pre-order and regional pricing?
avatar
katya_stevens: I'm seeing zero regional pricing for me: £39.99 ($57.89 if I switch to USD prices).
It'd currently be something like £42.49 for you if it were just converted from $59.99 USD (according to Google, at least), and after GOG did their little rounding thing. So, it seems you have it cheaper in the U.K., but it's still a different regional price.

Breja: Shallow and easy, Breja's ass has little to offer for the hardcore players. - Rock, Paper, Shotgun
'Hilarious hotseat havoc - until his mum gave us the bum's rush.' 10/10 wedgies - Four Fat Cheeks
I wonder how deep is item/loot/customisation in this game.. If its just 1ship with few upgrades then it would suck.
But if this game can offer you like 20ships or at least 10ships each with a lot of improvements and more stuff then it be cool..
" scheduled to be released on June 22nd in Europe, and June 24th in the UK."

uh... the referendum hasn't happened yet... also a bit presumptious of the result isn't it? :D
I've been watching this one intently, but they never said anything about whether it's offline friendly or an E:D style MMO. But I guess if GOG's selling it, and saying it's single player, it must be cabin-in-the-woods friendly? I'll pick it up this weekend unless I hear otherwise.

Why? What is the relevance?

MxMedix: There have been hints of being able to see another player, but the game's universe is so large that it's likely only to happen very rarely... I'm sure as people get closer to the center of the galaxy that the chance of this happening will increase, but over all there is NO multiplayer in this game.

Think... Dark Souls where the actions of others might affect your game such as a someone naming a planet and it showing that name in your game.

Starmaker: All preorder exclusives are evil. Like DRM, they punish legitimate buyers and incentivize people to use torrents (since the best version of the game can only be gotten there, after a very short window of opportunity closes).
avatar
MxMedix: I disagree... not "all" pre-order bonuses are evil.

This one in fact doesn't seem evil in any way... this bonus is the same bonus that steam is offering which seems to mean that no matter when or where you pre-order, you'll get the same bonus.

It's a "thank you" for buying the game early.

Also, keep in mind that this bonus is really not that good in the first place... the entire game is about upgrading your ship and further exploring which means that you'll likely have moved beyond this "awesome" ship within a few hours or days of playing the game due to finding a far better one or buying improved upgrades.

I do agree that some pre-order bonuses... especially ones that remove parts of the game for the sake of a pre-order or make you pick between several retailers with different "exclusives" can be harmful, but this seems to be real "thank you" that's not game breaking or making you choose between GOG, Steam, Amazon, etc.
It doesn't even sound like it's actually an exclusive, going solely by the newspost and the gamecard (neither uses the term in reference to the pre-order bonus -- just incentive). I get the impression that it just gives you early access (no, not that kind) to a ship that you'd otherwise be able to get in the course of playing the game. But I haven't looked into this anywhere else, so I might be wrong.
Pretty surprised to see that AAA price, I thought this was an indie game?

I bet it'll feel like an indie game.
