No Man's Sky a science-fiction game set in an infinite procedurally generated galaxy, is available to pre-order now — DRM-free on GOG.com

Intergalactic travel changes the notion of time. Unimaginable speeds connect impossibly distant worlds, dilating lifetimes, blending generations. A round-trip may find your world aged and unrecognizable, separated from your loved ones, irrevocably alien. In an intergalactic society, only the few set off towards the stars — explorers, those unafraid and with nothing to lose. They set off never to come back as far as our lifetimes are concerned. And thus, we still look up at an infinite sky, now within our reach, yet still untouched — a no man's land, a No Man's Sky.

No Man's Sky promises discovery of an infinite, uncharted universe. Its billions of stars, planets, unknown living creatures, breathtaking sights and lonely wastelands — all seamlessly connected — populated with explorers drawn to the distant mysteries of the horizon, eager to leave a permanent mark in their wake.
The frontier is merciless and dangerous. Exposed to a universe of extremities in your fragile suit and ship, you'll need resources and upgrades to get far — as well as the means stand your ground in fight.
Whether you journey to the center of it all or seek out the farthest reaches of existence, the trip will not be simple or dull. You'll catalogue things unseen, discover alien artifacts and reveal mysteries of the universe. If you survive.

The pre-order incentive for No Man's Sky includes the Horizon Omega ship — faster engines, better guns, all to kickstart your trip and help you survive longer on the interstellar journey.

Woow I was expecting this to be a timed exclusive for the PS4 and confined in some horrible steam-denuvo DRM prison for its later PC release, seeing it on GOG is awesome! Not convinced enough to preorder (honestly having a better ship to start with seems like it'll be less fun) but holy wowzers, it's great to see it available DRM free.
Like others, I've wishlisted it to see what happens with this game.

I have confidence that the final release might turn out good, and that's from someone who's been let down in the way Star Citizen has gone and the lack of single player game on Elite Dangerous.

Perhaps releasing No Man's Sky here might make Braben think again about a single player version, especially if he sees many of his players "jumping ship" to it.

Oh, and don't forget to have Limit Theory on GOG as well :)

Niggles: Couple of things -

Sorry BUT Is this a AAA game? .Im not the most tightass of gamers and will buy stuff at launch on occasion (hell i bought Diablo3 at launch.what a **** that was). Anyone else wondering at the pricing? (few fancy 3D graphics and "procedurally generated").

Anyone else not impressed?. hell The Witcher 3 was around $80-90 at release. what makes this game so good???

That is seriously taking the fucking piss and i thought GOG would have a) reasonably regional pricing - this is Activision level. b) What they are asking for is AAA pricing. Is this a AAA game or an indie one?.

seikojin: This is a AAA from Activision. So yes? :D

I have followed this game for a year or so now, and am excited it is on gog of all platforms for delivery.

The big thing you get with this is a much bigger sandbox than a linear witcher 3 game. One of my biggest gripes with most games is previews and videos ruining the element of awe as the story unfolds.

Back in the 90's Activision was a top tier company. So I never discount them like they are something like big-fish games. :)
Where did you get the idea that this game is from Activision? It's developed and published by Hello Games. It's an indie game.

Vythonaut: Amazing catch GOG! I didn't know about the game but looks amazing and right into my alley. If the single player will be good enough and not something put into the game very hastily, I'm buying it. :)

MxMedix: single player and "multiplayer" (such as it is) are identical.... it's just that single player is an "offline" mode of the same game/universe
Sounds nice enough! I haven't read anything about the game yet, I'll do it once I get back home. Thanks for the info. Oh, and the phrase was "right UP my alley" and not "into". :P Still learning.. :)
Awesome to see this here for preorder.

Seriously, hand on heart, i couldnt give a fuck that i have to wait.
However... why is the country it's made in the last to receive it exactly?
Truly, America is the most petty country in the world.
If it's not first it's best, if it's not best it's toughest.
Get over it guys, move on.
Enjoy your head start darlings.
What a joke.
Man, I'm really happy that this is on GOG...

the price is too salty though... here in Brazil we're in a recession since last year, and our currency is devalued compared to the USD. Since GoG doesn't have the option to pay in many local currencies and doesn't differentiate between markets, this is REALLY expensive here.

On Steam I'd pay R$ 129,99, but if I buy on GOG, it's R$227,96, the converted USD price at current exchange rates. I really want to buy this on GOG, I bit the bullet on the Witcher 3, pre-ordered and everything, but it's real hard to justify paying nearly DOUBLE the price.

I'd pay more for a GOG game, but not THAT much more, and not at that price range... so I'll either have to wait/hope the ressession passes or buy it on Steam, where it's martinally affordable.
I'm glad to see this game on GOG. If I get it it will definitely be here. But despite how interesting this game is I think I'm going to have to await some feedback before getting this though. For one thing it's clearly designed as a kind of multiplayer game but at the same time... not really. Not sure what to make of that. Multiplayer isn't something I really go for much any more. So I'd want something a bit more substantial on what you lose out on if you stick to single player.
nice to see the game here : )
Pre-ordered!

Quick question.. I just paid $49.29 USD (Around $69 AUD). Is this on purpose? Is this an Aussie-type discount so we don't feel the pinch as much? If so, thanks :)
Looks quite promising. I'll keep an eye on this.
First things first: I understand we're pretty much all going through recession (a few more than others, unfortunately), and that this price tag is obviously too steep for some to get the game. Fortunately for me, I found a job a while ago and I've been doing good at it, so I had the money set aside for this. I know this isn't a "AAA" game, and all that, but, as far as I'm concerned, it's better than most actual AAA games out there. I trust the studio with what they proposed themselves to offer customers, and I'd rather support them via pre-ordering, than some big-wig studio who doesn't need the money all that much and/or is just going to release some variation of the game they have been releasing for years on end. Hello Games deserve my €60 pre-order money, I'm pretty sure their game won't disappoint. Plus, their game is coming out, which is more that can be said about the über overhyped Star Citizen (good luck to my grandchildren in playing that one).

I'm really, really glad to see this one on GOG on day one. I'm also sorry for those who wanted the game but can't afford it; to those, I say: don't be too harsh on GOG, it's not them who decide this pricing stuff.

So, huge, huge, huge thanks to Hello Games and GOG for letting me purchase one of my most anticipated games of 2016 on my digital store of choice. Please, do keep the awesomeness up.

[EDIT] Not that anyone cares, but even though I have money for games, I'll probably won't have a good enough PC to run this game when it comes out. Still... I now own it, and will eventually be able to run it.

foxworks: This game is right up my alley. So torn as I rarely buy day 1. *chin stroking*
Since this wouldn't be a Day-1 purchase, you're all good. :-)
My laptop should be good for this...

Except the RAM... 8GBs? I have 6GBs, will that be a big deal?
