No Man's Sky a science-fiction game set in an infinite procedurally generated galaxy, is available to pre-order now — DRM-free on GOG.com

Intergalactic travel changes the notion of time. Unimaginable speeds connect impossibly distant worlds, dilating lifetimes, blending generations. A round-trip may find your world aged and unrecognizable, separated from your loved ones, irrevocably alien. In an intergalactic society, only the few set off towards the stars — explorers, those unafraid and with nothing to lose. They set off never to come back as far as our lifetimes are concerned. And thus, we still look up at an infinite sky, now within our reach, yet still untouched — a no man's land, a No Man's Sky.

No Man's Sky promises discovery of an infinite, uncharted universe. Its billions of stars, planets, unknown living creatures, breathtaking sights and lonely wastelands — all seamlessly connected — populated with explorers drawn to the distant mysteries of the horizon, eager to leave a permanent mark in their wake.
The frontier is merciless and dangerous. Exposed to a universe of extremities in your fragile suit and ship, you'll need resources and upgrades to get far — as well as the means stand your ground in fight.
Whether you journey to the center of it all or seek out the farthest reaches of existence, the trip will not be simple or dull. You'll catalogue things unseen, discover alien artifacts and reveal mysteries of the universe. If you survive.

The pre-order incentive for No Man's Sky includes the Horizon Omega ship — faster engines, better guns, all to kickstart your trip and help you survive longer on the interstellar journey.

Reach out and touch the No Man's Sky, available for pre-orders now, DRM-free on GOG.com! The game is scheduled to be released on June 21st in North America, June 22nd in Europe and Australia, and June 24th in the UK and Rest of World.

IwubCheeze: The pre-order bonus is pretty retarded. "If you pre-order now, the can use this ship which will make the game easier". How is that an incentive exactly?
avatar
Konrad: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Different strokes I guess. I won't be using the ship, but I'd say this is a way better incentive than pre-order exclusive missions or something.
a question: it's a "pre-order incentive." does this mean you can /never/ get this ship in the wild, in the game? only if you pre-order? [if so, then this is a VERY bad place for gog to be going.]

SirPrimalform: I just looked up the dev and they are British, so it would seem the UK price is the 'base' price for once? I wonder if 'Muricans get FPP?
I don't think so. The FPP only applies if a territory is paying higher than the region-free price.

OdanUrr: I'm not sure why but I was under the impression it would cost less than $60. Did they ever touch on the subject of pricing before?
i don't belive they ever did before now... there was always speculation of a price around $30, but i think that was because "it's an indie developer". i suspect Sony had a say in pricing as well.
meh

you can find this ship in game... read my post above yours
Thank you GOG for bringing it here.
GOG staff should get a bonus for this game.
I will buy it in 2018 when discount will be good and my budget will allow it.

So can some one tell me if it's a 4x4 game or a FPS game or something else?

I am on the hype train!!!

@Lostwolf, As above, the ship will be available in game just not at the start but if MODS are allowed, well............. then anything could be created. Lets hope MODS are supported when it all comes out :)

mix of action adventure and survival is likely the best description.... it's more about exploring though. it's literally a full sized digital universe.... with trillions of worlds to explore

That might be it. Well, it won't be a day one purchase for me at any rate. I'll wait for reviews and probably a sale later down the line. Hope it's good.

budejovice: The thought crossed my mind, but if I'm in a position to buy it early as support/statement I think a Day-1 sale on GOG will count for as much as a preorder when all is said and done.
Very true (and it avoids the entire preorder aspect of it that way) - on consoles it became so bad that it wasn't enough to preorder a game edition to get the "full" game, it had to be preordered at 8 different stores. There was a FANTASTIC looking asymmetric multiplayer game at the start of this console generation called "Evolve" - the fucking publisher / developer borked the game before it was even out by locking a ton of the (varied and different mind you) player squad and monster options behind preorders at different stores. The golf games were so bad I swear eventually you were buying about 5 courses and the rest had to be purchased piecemeal day one (um, no). I had had enough by that point thankfully LOL.
Amazing catch GOG! I didn't know about the game but looks amazing and right into my alley. If the single player will be good enough and not something put into the game very hastily, I'm buying it. :)
Couple of things -

Gaming prices. My impression - indie games are usually anywhere between $10-$30/35 (better known devs). AAA games somewhere around $40-50 USD. Here in Australia AAA games are usually $80+ (brick and mortar but digital isnt that really much different if the evil empire store is to be believed).

$42.99 USD
$68.99 AUD. (exchange via xe.com shows 58.44 if its to be believed)

Sorry BUT Is this a AAA game? .Im not the most tightass of gamers and will buy stuff at launch on occasion (hell i bought Diablo3 at launch.what a **** that was). Anyone else wondering at the pricing? (few fancy 3D graphics and "procedurally generated").

Anyone else not impressed?. hell The Witcher 3 was around $80-90 at release. what makes this game so good???

That is seriously taking the fucking piss and i thought GOG would have a) reasonably regional pricing - this is Activision level. b) What they are asking for is AAA pricing. Is this a AAA game or an indie one?.

Cypisss: There also seems to be more fresh news about the game coming out literally right now.
I read that too fast & almost exploded. I thought you meant the game was coming out literally right now.
Erm, you didn`t did you!? o0

davob: " scheduled to be released on June 22nd in Europe, and June 24th in the UK."

uh... the referendum hasn't happened yet... also a bit presumptious of the result isn't it? :D
Bankers have the votes done already, your "voting" is just to make folks believe things are fair ;)

Can you not use this ship if pre-order? As in, load & pilot the normal one post-order users will get, or are you stuck with this as a starter ship?

Barry_Woodward: "The game is scheduled to be released on June 21st in North America, June 22nd in Europe and Australia, and June 24th in the UK and Rest of World."

Have we had a release with a regional roll-out like that before?
wth is this!?
I could understand if it meant mass server DLs, but with the pre-orders & none MP stance, this makes no sense at all...
avatar
trusteft: I was certain it was not going to be DRM-free so I was certain I wasn't going to play it, even though I want to.
I don't know if I will pre order it yet, but I can guarantee you I am going to buy it from GOG.
Thank you for bringing it here.

Question, any idea if there is going to be an offline version/option?
Apparently there is an off line mode. I don`t know if we still need to be online to register/log-in like Torchlight2 did at times or not though.

One worrying part:
"If you die in your Ship in space, an escape pod jettisons you to a Space Station. Whatever cargo and Resources were in your Ship and whatever data you didn't upload are gone. A basic starter Ship will get you back into action. (HG says "items" as well. Needs clarification!) "

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/739857-no-mans-sky/72722580

Does this mean upload to the internot, or just a term for upload to something in game? o0

Personally, No Man's Spore.... I mean, No Man`s Sky does look overly tempting, but I`ll wait until nearer release to see more about it.
Also, to see if GOG & steam MP is separated & if there is something missing from playing off-line etc.
