No Man's Sky a science-fiction game set in an infinite procedurally generated galaxy, is available to pre-order now — DRM-free on GOG.com

Intergalactic travel changes the notion of time. Unimaginable speeds connect impossibly distant worlds, dilating lifetimes, blending generations. A round-trip may find your world aged and unrecognizable, separated from your loved ones, irrevocably alien. In an intergalactic society, only the few set off towards the stars — explorers, those unafraid and with nothing to lose. They set off never to come back as far as our lifetimes are concerned. And thus, we still look up at an infinite sky, now within our reach, yet still untouched — a no man's land, a No Man's Sky.

No Man's Sky promises discovery of an infinite, uncharted universe. Its billions of stars, planets, unknown living creatures, breathtaking sights and lonely wastelands — all seamlessly connected — populated with explorers drawn to the distant mysteries of the horizon, eager to leave a permanent mark in their wake.
The frontier is merciless and dangerous. Exposed to a universe of extremities in your fragile suit and ship, you'll need resources and upgrades to get far — as well as the means stand your ground in fight.
Whether you journey to the center of it all or seek out the farthest reaches of existence, the trip will not be simple or dull. You'll catalogue things unseen, discover alien artifacts and reveal mysteries of the universe. If you survive.

The pre-order incentive for No Man's Sky includes the Horizon Omega ship — faster engines, better guns, all to kickstart your trip and help you survive longer on the interstellar journey.

Hi!
Is this game bigger than life itself?
Thanks!
Nice catch Gog!

Oh, great. We've gone there. The pre-order bonus.
No Man's Sky is definitely high on my list of anticipated 2016 titles. I was leaning towards buying in on PC vs the PS4 version, and now I'm happy to see it on GoG. I'll be waiting for some reviews, but unless it's an utter disaster I'll be grabbing it here.
Pre-Order for 60€? You are kidding right?

For what?

- The game has NO Muliplayer.
I don't want to share my journey. I want to experience it together with my friends!

- Pre-Order Bonus is a bit lame.
What about soundtracks, wallpapers, comics and so on? Which would be a nice bonus for this price. This Bonus smells cheap and indicates that we will see lots of DLCs at/after Release.

- No Mac-/Linux Support.

- There are a few similar games for less then half the price already, with Multiplayer, dedicated servers, Mac & Linux support incuded.

Can't see any justifiation for this price at the moment. So, no thanks!

Wow that's expensive...

Also, no go for me. I've heard of this game and what some people name their discoveries, and I don't like games where my options are "filter all things manually or don't share in that aspect of the experience".

ambient_orange: I wonder how deep is item/loot/customisation in this game.. If its just 1ship with few upgrades then it would suck.
But if this game can offer you like 20ships or at least 10ships each with a lot of improvements and more stuff then it be cool..
you can only ever have one ship.... you either Upgrade what you have or find a better overall ship.

Likewise. I don't care to experience a universe of wonder where half the things in it have been named by giggling 13-year-olds and look-how-offensive-I-can-be hate monkeys. Plus I bet it won't be too longer before there's a virtual ISIS in there, dedicated to going around and blowing the fuck out of anything of beauty.

This game is solo play or no play for me.

Maxvorstadt: Oh, so you pay money for nothing and get no chicks for free?
avatar
HunchBluntley: Dunno. You could try going outside and shouting, "I just paid €54.99 (or whatever it is for you) for a digital game that won't be available for four months!", that might have the ladies swarming you. :D
It`s 59.99 € here, regional pricing, you know?
Sorry, there are barely any details on this game. I'll wait for reviews. Pre-ordering this is just asking for a bad time.
rad
Not enough RAM to play it correctly but I'm glad it's on GOG ^o^

MxMedix: This one in fact doesn't seem evil in any way...
avatar
Starmaker: It's evil because it's exclusive.

avatar
MxMedix: this bonus is the same bonus that steam is offering which seems to mean that no matter when or where you pre-order, you'll get the same bonus.
avatar
Starmaker: I don't blame GOG.

avatar
MxMedix: It's a "thank you" for buying the game early.
avatar
Starmaker: "We're so grateful you bought the game we promise to dick over your friend." No. Just no. After a game with exclusives releases and is good, I feel bad recommending it to people. "I got a better deal that you will never be able to get, but you should still buy it at full price."

Edit:

HunchBluntley: It doesn't even sound like it's actually an exclusive, going solely by the newspost and the gamecard (neither uses the term in reference to the pre-order bonus -- just incentive). I get the impression that it just gives you early access (no, not that kind) to a ship that you'd otherwise be able to get in the course of playing the game. But I haven't looked into this anywhere else, so I might be wrong.
avatar
Starmaker: ^ Now this is perfectly okay (except I don't see why people would want it then).
it's not exclusive, it's a bonus.

when did i say you're blaming gog? i said it appears all etailers will offer the same bonus ship as a preorder

you clearly don't understand the game... a slightly stronger ship in a single player game has no affect on your buds... it's also highly likely you'll find a better ship in short order. ing

funny how you approve of the second poster saying the same thing i was trying to say, lol.

again....ships are procedurally generated... you won't have to wait long to get a better ship
