make sure you use the official site, i read on the site there are weird sites repacking the stuff with all kinds of 'extras', ad/malware i guess.
Always use an Antivirus ( KAV is quite good they also have KISS (more expensive), it keeps the pc safe)
and if possible an antimalware tool (malwarebytes is a very good one)
The licences are also affordable.
In the past (win98se period)i had norton but i cant recommend it cause it does not deliver imho.

j0ekerr: This game made me realize something, 80's nostalgia seems to be fading out, while 90's nostalgia is setting in.

And it annoys me, because the 80's were great. But the 90's sucked.

Dear God I've become a grumpy old man.

PS: To be fair the 90's gave us the Spice Girls, so we can hold that against them.
avatar
Laberbacke: You are right, but they are humans like you and me (I hope).
avatar
j0ekerr: Well I hope they're not. Just think of how cool that'd be.

Although rumours abound that say working at EA will cause you to mutate into some sort of morlock/mole-man hybrid.
nah, you are not grumpy :D

80s were very good, 90s were less, and a lot less...
2000 was a 'millenium' disaster , an era that's wrecking havoc for the rest of the centuries to come.
The shit hit the fan when EEC became EU , one flag (ugly blue with stars) fits many many countries, and many many many EU rules will fit all those countries, well that does not sound so 'democratic' anymore
i cant remember (maybe i got a blackout, i dont know) we had a way of voting to agree if we wanted to be 'enlisted' into the EU, cause they decide for us and lateron tell us all countries agreed (maybe the countries agreed but the people weren't heard)
Anyway its a mess, and i am afraid it wont get better .
Its not your or our or anyones fault, its our 'governments' who are failling time and time again,
, they f.. things up all the time and because of that we (the people) will have to pay the piper.
good thing is that the internet is still 'free' so any mistakes /coverups of our leader will be posted there, cause tv is not showing most of it.
so this is interesting.

tburger: I sure will but not yet. Too many classics to buy with even more to come here.
Thats correct, but in my case i have some cash left cause the past 6 months most games were 3d/fpp/action/shooter
these aren't on my buylist
also lots of management games and games that had lots of flashing effects.
So with these all removed that left me 10 games from the 400 or so since dec 2015.
Thats why i am able to get this game now.

classics i am waiting for (but arent likely to arrive, to little votes)

secretfiles collection (have steam versions but thats drm so i cant play cause i seldom use my XP(has steam installed)

no drm but i rather have them here aswell :D

The Fall - Mutant City (German version) (no english available) 5 bucks on GG drm free
Red Johnson's Chronicles (dont know what it exactly is, havent played yet but got it a sales)

Chronicles of Mystery: The Scorpio Ritual
Chronicles of Mystery The Tree of Life

Art of Murder - FBI Confidential
Art of Murder - Cards of Destiny
Art of Murder - Hunt for the Puppeteer
Sinking Island

Reversion Double Pack - Reversion: The Escape
Reversion Double Pack - Reversion: The Meeting

Tony Tough and the Night of the Roasted Moths
The Jolly Gang's Misadventures in Africa
Last Half of Darkness - Society of the Serpent Moon
and more games i dont have but would like to have:

Nightlong: Union City Conspiracy
and more like these...

Luned: Oh, thanks for giving me that earworm...just seeing the name got the tune stuck in my head. :P
...Speaking of earworms, now every time I see this game's title in the store or forums, I immediately hear:

Kathy rain, kathy rain
Kathy rain, kathy rain
Kathy rain, kathy rain
I only want to see you underneath the kathy rain

It's really messing with my head. XD
4 pages of discussion and no one has said anything about the game. Please. Some opinions?

I mean, it obviously looks like a Wadjet Eye game, but can anyone confirm its goodness or badness?

I like it, but I'm heavily biased (beta tester).
Here are the facts:
- First playthrough took me almost ten hours
- No moon logic (which could lead to people calling it "too easy". I found it just right)
- Game looks and sounds good
No linux version? Wishlisting until then...
Is it using AGS? If so, why no Linux version is listed?

UPDATE: indeed it does: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=46423.0

Wishlisted so far.

UPDATE2: And the author wrote that Linux version is coming:
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=46423.msg636512003#msg636512003

However, I can divulge that the initial release will be for Windows, Linux and Mac
So why doesn't the announcement mention it? I'll ping the author about it.

For the reference of all Linux users, you can also always build AGS from source and run any AGS game on Linux using your build.

You can consider me pinged :) The Linux version sadly didn't make it in the initial release due to time constraints, that's why it wasn't in the announcement. The post you dug up has outdated information, sorry about that. To avoid any confusion, I've edited it to reflect the current release plan, which is Windows and Mac only for May 5th.

A Linux version is something I'd like to do later on, and it's something we'll properly re-evaluate post release. What you are saying about building the AGS source on Linux is technically correct, if you're assuming that the game uses a compatible engine build and no platform specific plugins. That's not true in our case, our code is branched since years back. Getting it up and running on Linux is doable, but not trivial. You'll have to wait for the proper release, I'm afraid.

Thanks for clarification. Your game looks promising, and I'll surely buy it when it will be playable on Linux. Always good to see game authors here on GOG, it's not very common :)

Did you develop some specific AGS features that aren't in the vanilla engine, and if so, did you try may be adding them back upstream? Or there is some other reason that your code diverged from it?

Thanks!
