There's something strange in the neighborhood...

Hello Neighbor, an unsettling stealth/horror experience about infiltrating your creepy neighbor's house, is now available for pre-order, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Looks at this guy. There is something up with him, you just know it. If only you could sneak into his basement and investigate.
But be careful: Every distraction, trick, or access point you try will soon be countered by the adaptive AI, so you need to be smart and quick if you want to uncover all his secrets without becoming one of them...

Pre-order now and get immediate access to the game's playable early builds.
These will appear under Backups & Goodies in your library.

Want a free taste? Try the demo!

Watch the trailer.

To be fair, tinyBuild published Clustertruck but didn't develop it. That was Landfall Games. This is also being published by tinyBuild, but developed by Dynamic Pixels. That it has a demo is a good sign at least. Too early to tell if it'll be any good though.

fronzelneekburm: Tell me about it! As I was running away from the neighbor, I managed to jump over a barricade he had put up in his backyard. The AI noticed that there was no way it was going to make that jump, so instead it decided to clip right through the barricade T-1000 style. Seriously next-gen stuff! ;P

As it stands, this plays like the "Goat Simulator" of stealth games...
Judging by your description it sounds more like a ghost simulator which kind of makes sense considering GOG's 'Ghostbusters' reference. :P

fronzelneekburm: On the one hand, tinybuild has a baaaaaaaaad track record when it comes to gog. And 30 bux isn't exactly small fries either. On the other hand, this looks so right up my alley it's hard to put in words.

Decisions...
When in doubt, the correct answer is usually "wait until after release and read some player reviews". Better yet, wait until it's properly patched up, if such is required. At least they seem to offer a demo.
That price tag is a little over the top for such a simple concept.

Themken: To me it looks like the creepy neighbour is the player...
That was my first reflex too. First went "oh is is a 3D version of Neighbour from hell" ? Then, "oh, that's part of the new trend of voyeuristic games à la spy-and-report-on-their-smartphone-content ?". And finally it sounds more like a videogame version of "Don't breathe". And "Don't breathe" was pretty cool.

Okay, not entirely not creepy, but if it stays "Rear window" (or "Fright night") kind of investigative creepy, I'd say the player character's honor is safe.

Really curious to see if the gameplay will deliver the tension.
I'll wait for the finished build and then some more to see if we actually get patches this time. I'm interested though.

I'm sorry but why the friggin HECK isn't this sorted in the "under dev" category?!

An under dev hidden behind a "pre order"?

What the heck is wrong with you gog? Trying to do the same kind of shit as your gov?

<- Not happy
I like the premise, and the video looks fun. However there appears to be several reasons posted here why the game may be problematic to play / complete. I'll add another....if they can't even spell "neighbour" properly in the TITLE then the rest of the game is probably poorly made as well.

I wonder if you can see if the neighbour is home while you casually walk past on the pavement.
Or if there is a garage attached as part of his house, if you can hide in the boot of his car. Or lift the bonnet of his car and fiddle with he engine, keeping him busy while you sneak in.
Perhaps paint his front door a different colour to confuse him.
Those nails he uses to board up his front door...swap them for aluminium ones (aloominum ones won't work).
When he gets really angry does ho go nuclear? (Not nuculer....new / clear...goddit?).
When he first sees you in his house, does he become a prostitute (whorified), or just get horrified?
He can't see you in the bathroom meer, because it doesn't exist. It's called a mirror...mirr / or.

Sigh, the colonies....I don't know what the empire is coming to.
That banner is creepy.

Seriously, stop with the animated GIFs. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has trouble reading with motion on the same page. Animated GIF in my book means no sale. It's too obnoxious.

Being publisher generally means you are in charge of stuff like advertising and distribution. So making sure content is distributed among platforms falls under that purview. While providing patches is ultimately the responsibility of the developer the publisher should be encouraging their developers to provide patches equally across all platforms.

If it was a single developer - then fine, I'd be inclined to believe it is an instance of a bad dev. Having issues with almost all your games on a particular platform means you are not doing your job as publisher in ensuring all platforms are treated equally.

Essentially, if you don't care about the quality of products you are distributing - why would I buy from you?

That's a pretty wild and arrogant assumption, considering Dynamic Pixels are not a UK-based company, and British English is not the only official/correct version of written English.
Stop being so typically, snottily British. I doubt the acceptably spelled title would be any further indicator of quality.

Game looks like it could be great when it's finished, but i'm not patient enough for that kind of gameplay. Also, i'm another one getting tired of GoG's 'patchy' standards of game support. If I didn't seperately dislike Steam,I think i'd have already left GoG completely by now.

...
Oh man, as a kid learning English these American English vs Brittish English spellings were always annoying to discover. I've read that most English words ending in -our have a French or Latin origin anyway, not Brittish.
