Rage against the machines

Hard Reset: Redux, a heavily upgraded edition of the cult-classic cyberpunk FPS, is now available for pre-order, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 10% per-order discount or 85% for owners of Shadow Warrior (2013)!

Humanity is under siege. Bezoar, the last bastion of mankind, is being attacked by bloodthirsty machines seeking to download its extensive data-bank, where billions of digitized human minds are stored. It's time for a last stand. It's time for hard decisions. It's time for a Hard Reset.

The relentless gunplay, the wanton destruction, and the hardcore sensibilities that gained the original its cult fame, are back with a vengeance. Hard Reset: Redux brings a barrage of improvements, including better visuals, a new enemy type, a sweet dash move, a mean-looking cyber-katana, optimized performance, and an all-around more balanced experience. Definitely a far more enjoyable one than what our mechanical overlords would want us to have, should they were allowed to succeed...

Pre-order Hard Reset: Redux, the definitive edition of this intense techno-thriller, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 10% discount. Owners of Shadow Warrior (2013), who want to smash some mean machines, can instead take advantage of the whopping, permanent 85% loyalist discount!
The 10% discount will last until June 10, 2:29 PM UTC.
The game launches on June 3.

NuffCatnip: Is the game releasing this Friday?

mistermumbles: June 10. Next Friday. ... Reading is hard. =P
Actually, the game will be releleased this Friday, June 3. The discount will still run for one additional week, though. Added the info to avoid further confusion :)

EDIT: Ninja'd :P

I'll probably wait till it's out and see how it compares with the original.

I'm just happy the 85% discount is permanent.
I won't be forced to preorder before finding out if the Redux is actually worth it.

Yeah, I didn't see that part. :)
But you're wrong the game does release this Friday. :P

'The game launches on June 3.'
Good to see a really nice discount for SW owners (and original owners on Steam). I remember when Square Enix let existing Deus Ex: Human Revolution owners upgrade to the Director's Cut for $5 or $8 depending on whether you had the DLC as well. Seems like these things have been getting worse and worse since console "remasters" have become the next big craze. Games like Metro: Last Light Redux or Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition were abjectly useless upgrades for existing owners and still cost around $15. Instant buy for me once the pre-order period ends.
There's a discrepancy between the store credit amount mentioned in the game card (2.40€) and the one I get at the checkout screen (0.40€). I own Shadow Warrior 2013, so I guess the game card doesn't take that fact into account and it displays the store credit corresponding to the regular 10% off discount.

Zoidberg: A big fat "meh" from me. The original was boring quite quickly.

I don't think I'd be interested even if I owned Shadow Warrior here (I do but got it from the devs site).
Ya the original was pretty meh for me but at $3 and the promise of rebalancing I'll at least take a look at this one once reviews start to come out.

vanchann: Yes, there a bug!
Actually it's more than free. You're going to get store credits too!

I'll wait for GOG to fix this. It's tempting, but unethical to get it this way.

EDIT: It has been fixed.
Not quite. At least in DKK, the game card shows a much too large figure for the store credit, but it is not carried over to the checkout page, so it is only cosmetic.

Indeed.

Wasnt impressed much before but who knows... may get it at some point with that perma 85% discount
A little bit too expens... whoa! $3!

Damn, that too tempting to pass up. Especially since I enjoyed Shadow Warrior 2013. Why not - it's only $3 ;)
Well, I normally avoid pre-orders, however 85% for those of us who own Shadow Warrior 2013 (and who doesnt? Come on own up, Wang will find you!) is a pretty fantastic offering so I brought. Just loko at the other end of the spectrum - another Ashes Of Singularity DLC for horrendus amounts of cash.
Any chance to see Linux version of it? Little point for me to purchase, unless there is native. Don't see this as stubborn, please.
Will this become one of the most preordered games in a few hours? It can't be that bad for 2 pounds... I hope ☺
Imo, The original was very good but had a lot of space for improvement; Shadow Warrior learned a lor from that, becoming my favourite Shooter of the generation by far. Now, with an 85% I simply can't miss the enhanced version. There is just one problem: the game is very brief. Well worth 3€, mind me, but still brief.

Probably..
