Grim Fandango resurrected.

Finally, a constructive, positive solution that GOG can probably get behind. I can certainly get behind that idea. Just so long as they undo the merge. Please avoid applying my vote for the original to the new edition, guys.

Djungelurban: Well, they did manage to get System Shock 2 working, and that was a way more unruly beast to tackle, so I hardly think the obstacle is a technical one... And if the problem is a legal one? That's a problem of will power, not inability. Not saying that makes it easy to solve, since that would potentially require 3 different parties (GOG, Disney and DoubleFine) all pulling in the same direction... Legally speaking... And people may be stubborn, but it's hardly insurmountable...

And I'm not saying I don't want the HD version to be released... I'm fine with that, I'm just against it taking the place of the original. And thus yes, I will not buy it... I wasn't itching that hard to sit down and play it, would mostly just be a bit of gaming history on my virtual shelf but it could have been interesting in a time capsule kind of sense... The remake doesn't even have that going for it though and thus I have no interest.

And why would I be grateful to GOG? I mean, first of all they haven't given me what I wanted and second of all, I don't owe them anything. They're a store and I'm a customer of that store. In a sense I guess it's kinda like a symbiosis but really, they need me a hell of a lot more than I need them. If anything they owe me since I'm staying loyal to them. Doesn't mean that I'm really entitled to anything of course but since you started throwing around words like "grateful"...

I to bring back an have never played Griim Fandango but the people who have remastered it from the orginal are working very hard to bring back a classic game from what I understand was a gem . so people who don't want it stop
with all the crying. GOGis doing a fantastic work and and I am really happy with all the wonderful games they have brought to us.

Stop trying to convince people that wants the original version just as it was. Let them have their wishlist entries and votes.

On that note, are we going to get the updated soundtrack as download? The original music didn't sound good because of the way they recorded it, but the actual compositions are quite good.
Out of curiosity, has GOG actually said they're not putting the original up too ?

If they wanted the original they should of bought it when it was available. The game was a flop because no one bought it. They have a bit of a cheek to complain because this is the only option they have of playing it unless they have a disc.

This isn't like X-Wing that faded because the lack of compatibility. This game disappeared because no one bought the damn thing. Now they have a viable, very faithful version and now they just complain about stupid little things.

RafaelLVX: The best ever brazillian localization has got to be Max Payne 1, you should check it out. Grim Fandango was also one of the best and it's great to see it back. :-)

Well, I guess then I'll never play it. The other side is, no gog and no Double Fine will get my money.

I would welcome the possibility to unvote maded votes. I voted for GF not for GF remastered, it may be the same game concerning the story and so on but it has an other technical base. So it's NOT the same game!
The impulse to vote for something isn't the same anymore, right in that moment when it's been edited or even "manipulated".
