VanishedOne: Why is this tagged 'Modern' on the gamecard?
thats funny indeed, but i see old games like jagged alliance also tagged as modern.
the price is very modern: 36 euros listprice

is this an AAA game ? the price is quit high if its not an AAA game.

I googled and found this article:
https://www.reddit.com/r/nintendo/comments/3aebno/average_cost_of_a_aaa_title_game/

a piece of text from the article:

We are quickly approaching the prices of console games in the 90's again.
What I'm wondering is why? games were stuck at 49-59 bucks for what seemed like the last 15 years. What justifies the What justifies the sudden hike in price? simply because they can?
i been around gaming long time since i was a kid, and i do recall dutch guilder prices of 119.95, 129.95 and even 139.95 back in the 80s/90s before that horrible disastrous euro was born in 2002.

I assume those were AAA games: Age of Empires : FL 129.95
commandos 89.95 , commandos call of duty 79.95 , fallout FL 119/ 129 / 99 / 89
big prices back then. I know you cant count back curriencies but 36 euros would be 75 or max 79 guilders thats an average price of big titles in the 80s/90s.
yup expensive periode for me, but back then things were much better in europe and also in holland, and i could afford it more easily then now: but now the latest government (VVD/PVDA) messed up holland completely.
The old versions of these parties were run by old gray men, but economy was way better then nowadays.

Linux?!

Pre-ordered this on Steam... would cancel and get it here but my OS is missing on GoG (again) when it's available at launch on Steam :/

Guess this is the same issue as Vran...
Being a fan of Patrician/Port Royale-like trading game, I'm definitely interested in this (have been eyeing with it on Steam as well).
About the pre-order extra DLCs: they are confirmed by the devs to NOT change anything in the gameplay, one will only alter your castle's outlook and the other just adds some extra visuals to the map, but they don't change anything.

PaterAlf: Somehow it's hard to believe that Kalypso really sells this game flat priced here. If it's not a bug and it stays this way, I'm going to pick it up.
Not anymore!

HypersomniacLive: Not anymore!
As expected.

Will wait till it shows up in a bundle then or till I can get it dirt cheap in pinata/mutator/luck of the Irish or whatever-it-is-called-in-the-future-promo.

I'll wishlist it for now, not because of the price but because I never pre-order and I doubt it will run on my 7 years old PC.

It does look fantastic and I loved the video they did to show and explain the gameplay (second one on the game page), I wish/hope other publishers follow that example.

It's also tagged as "role-playing", even though it looks more like a strategy/sim game to me (and it's missing these tags) ... I wouldn't call Heroes of Might and Magic an RPG either. Here's hoping it was confused with another game and we'll soon get a modern real-time RPG as well. ;D

Even the regular DROD series (I'm not talking about DROD RPG) is tagged as role-playing and it doesn't have a single RPG element (these games are pure puzzle games). GOG seems to have a fairly wide definition of RPG.
So this more or less looks like an updated version of Lords of the Realm? If so I'm interested.

I am interested in knowing that too, but it is still in pre-order status......

I don't see the problem with Modern tag for Jagged Alliance. The setting is modern, not medieval nor have spaceships.

And I don't see either why that price should only be accepted for AAA games.

Yeah, definately tagged wrong. Well HoMM games do have role-playing elements (they don't have Role-playing as tag on GOG btw. They are tagged Strategy/Turn-based/Fantasy) unlike this game and definately should be tagged historical instead of modern.

Correct tags would be Strategy/Economic/Historical but second tag could also be Simulation or Real-time I suppose.

From Kalypso forum

- - - - -
What do you need regarding the two exclusive DLCs?
General information?
If this is the case, here you go:

Both are customization DLCs and won't have any impact on the gameplay.
- "Camelot" will change your first/starting city into a huge and beautiful castle (even in MP-matches Wink )
- "Ancient Wonders" will place world wonders around your map, such as e.g. the Sphinx in egypt.

Hope this is what you were looking for.

cheers,
Unerde
