Beware the Black Death, destroyer of kingdoms.

<span class="bold">Grand Ages: Medieval</span> a global strategy game of war and economics, is available for pre-order now, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 15% discount.

How do you feel about gameplay on a grand scale? Well, Grand Ages: Medieval is ready to tickle your fancy of grandeur. There are hundreds of settlements, and over 30,000,000 Square Kilometers of Europe, Africa, Middle East and Scandinavia - and when you zoom in on your local lumberjacks going about their day, the immensity of it all immediately hits home.
Grand Ages: Medieval is first and foremost a game of economics and city building. You'll start out with a lonely settlement to build up from scratch, while slowly building up trade networks and relationships with neighboring, up-and-coming kingdoms, just like yours. The goal? Total domination, obviously. But whether you set out to to achieve medieval superiority through trade and coin, or sword and shield - the choice is yours to make.

On top of the 15% discount, the pre-order comes with two in-game DLCs "Camelot" and "Ancient Wonders", as well as the original soundtrack!

Pre-order <span class="bold">Grand Ages: Medieval</span> now on GOG.com. The pre-order deal will last until the game's release.
Looks like a great game. A bit of settlers and civilization. I especially liked the "volcano eruption" part. I would buy it if I had the time.

XrayStyleZ: Hey GOG, how much did you drink yestarday!? 40$ in my region... And it`s not the first time when something go wrong... Maybe time to fix it?
PS: how much it cost in Europe and USA?
its 40$ for me too.
Something doesn't smell right about this, this game is priced like an AAA game and yet it has come out of nowhere with like zero press/marketing and it's launching in less than a fortnight from now. Plus it's being published by Kalypso, the publishers of Omerta.....
Uh......

yyahoo: Minimum system requirements
Graphics: DirectX 10 compatible, 1 GB RAM, Geforce GTS450 or similar
DirectX: Version 11

So which is it? DX10 or DX11?
It means you need DirectX 11 installed but your card needs to only support DX10. Basically, it's programmed using DX11 but they only used DX10 features.

Makes sense. Perhaps it would have helped if they hadn't have listed a DX11 card as the minimum example. My card's definitely as powerful as a 450 so I should be okay whenever I decide to purchase (if I haven't bought a new PC by then)...
Nice one. I was kind of hoping to see it here but had low hopes for it being a Kalypso game. As much as I have been following this game its more a mix of trading and empire building and all it has in common with Grand Ages: Rome is the first part of the name and nothing else. Otherwise its a rts trading empire building simulation (supposedly based on Rise of Venice). Eitherway wishlisted for now at the current price tag. Though I will certainlybuy the game at some point.

Little too expensive for me, especially for a game I've not heard of before. Hopefully after release we see some good reviews coming in.

All I can say is looks pretty from the pictures. Of course anyone can show you a picture of them looking cute and then you discover they weren't genuine (oh wait I'm supposed to be talking about the game ;P
Since a lot of people did not here about this game before, here is a gameplay stream with developers:

In Germany the marketing has been going on for a while, already watched a letsplay. It is from the devs who made Patrician 2, which is the best economics sim alongside Capitalism Lab.
It seems to combine the economics of P2 with civlike gameplay.
It looks a lot like the Patrician series. While I enjoy Patrician, I'm kinda disappointed.

I had hoped that since it's a Grand Ages title, it would be more like Grand Ages: Rome, which was really fun. Speaking of, please put Grand Ages: Rome on GoG, devs, if you are reading this :)

I'll keep my eye on it for now
I just saw the price for the steam version: 44,99€. It's nearly 10€ cheaper here. Normally it's the other way around, for the games I care about at least.
This looks like a poor man's Total War. Which would be more okay if we had Total War.

It's hilarious how so many people gawk at $40, when that's less than what most of the games on this site were new back in the day.

Also... higher budget, plus more games churned out by the publisher,, plus more employee's, equals higher price tag.

But don't you worry, it'll be on sale far below it's worth sooner than later!

I'm grateful just to see it here and it looks gorgeous. Hope it's a good game!

Also, voted for Grand Ages: Rome above

IAmSinistar: Wow, looks like Banished on an epic scale.
I had the same feeling, from the screenshots!
