The third part of the cult tactical stealth series set in the Wild West draws near. You can now pre-order Desperados III Digital Deluxe Edition on GOG.COM. Pre-order the game until its release on 16th June 2020 and you will receive the soundtrack and Season Pass DLC with new missions for the future price of the Desperados III Standard Edition.
low rated
I'm glad THQ gave this game Achievements, but they still need to go back and do the same thing for all their other GOG games that are - shamefully on THQ's part - still currently missing Achievements.

Most likely the asking price for this Desperados game is way too high though, as it will probably only have a small number of missions in it, just like these devs' previous Shogun game also did.

I notice how the store page conspicuously omits any mention of the number of missions in the game, which is probably because the number is tiny and way less than would be needed in order reasonably to justify its very high $49.99 USD asking price. So I think they don't want to draw the customers' attention to the fact that it has a low number of missions, and hence they simply ignore the point and hope no one notices the small number of missions until after they've already bought the game.

I also wonder if the devs put controller users at a huge disadvantage in this game again, like they did in their previous Shogun game, via giving mouse & keyboard players added functionality via the existence of cursor for them, while the total absence of any cursor for controller players meant that they could not perform 100% identical functions as mouse users, nor could controller users perform some mega-time-saving functions that mouse users could.

And hence due to that horrible design of not having 100% identical & equal functionality between mouse users and controllers users, controller users were totally shafted when trying to achieve the very awful speed-run medals/Achievements which were also included as a core part of that Shogun game, even though those elements totally wrecked it and make no zero sense for them to be included in any game of this type.

I suspect this new Desperados game will also include similarly-awful speed-running goals, even though it shouldn't because they are terrible and the antithesis of fun.

ThomNG: And here is our next preorder start (after SpongeBob last Thursday) - hope you enjoy seeing Desperados III here on GOG! Enjoy and make sure to use that fantastic preorder offer to get the Digital Deluxe Edition (game + soundtrack + Season Pass) at the price of the Standard Edition.

Stay tuned!
It's great to see it here on gog but the hip hop music in the trailer does more harm then good. Might want to fire the marketing person who came up with that one.

It's not hip-hop! C'mon.

The music fits trailer perfectly and I'd like to give a bonus pay to the marketing person who came up with that one.

The badges add nice incentives to try different challenges on a same map. I have a lot of fun trying to get the three major ones for each map in the highest difficulty, now that I already completed the game in the default difficulty.

Anther nice thing about them is that they are not in your face, do not lock content behind them, and are not shared with your relatives. So you can ignore them without missing out on anything.
That is what I do with the speedrun badges, as I do not have the skill to get them, nor am I willing to spend the time required to reach this kind of skill.

So the conclusion is obvious: you don’t know what fun is, or where to find some. I feel sorry for you.
Or you’re a troll. I still feel sorry for you.

Ugh, yes, this. All the D3 trailers released so far have terrible music that doesn't fit the game at all; I've yet to see one person commenting that they actually like it. Thankfully it seems like the in-game soundtrack will have similar music to the original Desperados games.

The person two posts above yours seems to like it... *shrugs*

I genuinely missed that post somehow. I'm still half-convinced that it must be sarcasm.

I'm half-convinced that your post must be sarcasm. I do like music from trailer very much, reminds me movie trailers and it supports well presented action-packed scenes.

There's nothing wrong with the music itself, it just doesn't fit the game at all. It's completely inappropriate to the period and the Wild West setting. If you watch some of the gameplay previews like this one, you'll see what the music in the actual game is like - I just don't know why they couldn't have used similar music for the trailer.

It seems they chose music to emphasize a particular character's playstyle and personality traits. For Isabelle's character trailer they went with Bad Things by Summer Kennedy for example. It works for a character trailer - the main issue is Gog only has one trailer and they went with one focusing on a single character.

B1tF1ghter: It's notable that it is not a GOG specific deal. Same applies on steam (fyi everybody).
(I mean deluxe for the price of standard)
Do you really think you have a target group here on GOG for this kind of information? ;)

ThomNG:
Adding Linux support to Desperados 1 so long after the fact was greatly appreciated, as well as the excellent Linux support for Shadow Tactics from day 1, so I hope us Linux users made it worth your while and that there'll be a good chance for Linux support here as well, even if it looks like it won't be there right from the start.

Hear, hear! I tend to play every map at least once with the self-imposed goal of don't kill anyone, and another time with the goal of "kill everyone without raising any alarm", and the badges really help with just taking a fresh look at the map.

Also, as I just completed my first speedrun badge yesterday (on my first attempt to do so even, with a whopping 40 seconds to spare), I suspect that they're not all that impossible to acquire. At least on the map that I did, it was mostly about intuiting the swiftest path where I could ignore the most obstacles, and juggling as few characters as possible, but giving the right orders to have them in position already when I needed the others to be present. I could easily afford a couple of misclicks and imperfect timing, so I have good hope the same goes on the other maps.

Oh, that's wonderful, another Desperados game. Thanks for working on it!

Please make it for Linux too. First Desperados and Blades of the Shogun on Linux are a blast.

Mimimi rocks!
This will be my very first game I ever pre-ordered. Thanks THQ Nordic for bringing this also to GOG.
