Entropy.971: FWIW, this is from people who came over from Star Citizen. It's obvious what they did with the money there, and instead of finishing that project, they moved on to other scams. Descent Underground never went anywhere, and got a bad reputation aside from the most brainwashed fanboys who solely populate the forums because the devs banned everyone who posted the slightest criticism.
Therefore, Descent Underground became Descent 2019, because completely dropping the old project and rebranding as a new scam will fool more unsuspecting suckers into throwing money at it.
Just like before, the majority of the budget went into the Trailer, and the game itself will be microtrans hell. The single player campaign is a tacked on afterthought that was added after complaints, but we have yet to see solid proof that it is any good, just like Star Citizen.
Even if the game had some redeeming content, there still is plenty of unaddressed issues like balance, feel, weapon and level design, really bad UI, etc, that won't get fixed because the devs won't take criticism. Not to mention access to the existing content is run as a pyramid scheme just like Star Citizen, so only the biggest spenders ever had access to participate in development.
Also, keep in mind Overload was started after Descent Underground and finished before Descent 2019. These devs are only interested in wasting time and sucking money, and not releasing a game. Honest developers would have already finished by now. The only way for Descent 2019 to reach the hands of the people is a repeat of DNF, where gearbox sued 3drealms for the IP and finished the game themselves. IMO, that's the only solution to getting a finished product here, because I don't think these devs have any actual plans to finish the game.
GOG needs to investigate the devs for content, and if it doesn't exist or they aren't working on it, they should be booted off the store. Having this product on GOG hurts GOG's reputation for not properly curating legitimate content.

takezodunmer2005: Holy shit, I did not know the history of these devs before I posted my support... I'll wait for a deep sale before I give them my money; thanks for the history lesson!
Except for the fact that he is completely and utterly lying to you. Here are the facts:
They didn't ban anybody that were not blantantly breaking the rules. How do I know that? Because I got banned when I got very upset about something and did break rules, they temporarily banned me. Guess what I did when I got back? I gave my misgivings with certain stuff they were doing for the game, and I did it in a constructive way, and they didn't ban me.
Yes, some of the developers were once a part of the Star Citizen Project, Not sure why that even matters at all. Those people had nothing to do with how Chris Roberts runs his company or how funding is made. Like Vulcher said, just because someone was once with a bad company, doesn't mean they are bad themselves. Look at Travis Baldtree, he was with Wild Tangent, he moved on to start up a new company that made Torchlight 1 and 2, he then moved on again and made a new company that made the great Rebel Galaxy game and is soon going to release Rebel Galaxy Outlaw game which is a spiritual successor to Wing Commander Privateer in every way.
They did not drop a previous project and move onto a "different scam". Descent Underground has been renamed to Descent (2019). Everyone who has backed the Descent Underground or bought the Early Access of Descent Underground are still getting Descent (2019) because that is what they paid for and they are the same exact game, only changed is the name and being a complete game instead of an early access/in dev game. What they did some months ago is they decided for their small studio dealing with In dev/Early Access was taking up way to much time and slowing down progress on the game, they didn't want to be another DayZ and have it in development hell, and really wanted to focus on getting the game done. So Early Access/In dev buyers simply didn't get new updates to the game for about a year.
They did not completely drop the project, they continued with the same project and eventually gave it a new name. Did you know that games often get new names during development? It is not unusual, and it doesn't mean they stopped the previous project and started a new project.
He has completely mislead you into thinking that the game is going to have microtransactions. There isn't going to be any microtransactions. They listened to the fans and have ditched the idea of having microtransactions back in 2015 and decided to go with large expansions instead

He is also wrong about the single player being tacked on. Single Player was one of the Kickstarter promises. What they did though is they concentrated on making the Multiplayer first, and then started on the single player campaign. It was easier to concentrate on getting the base game mechanics down, and get the game balanced for Multiplayer, and then build a single player around the balance that was already created... that actually makes a lot of sense, I remember many games that made balance changes for MP that really ruined the balance of the SP, so starting with MP development first should prevent things like that from happening.
He is talking about unnaddressed issues, he is talking about stuff from the last build from a year ago. The developers do take critisim, if you do it in a constructive way.
he is completely lying to you about it being a pyramid scheme. If you did the kickstarter, or bought the Early Access/In Dev, that was it, there was nothing else for you to do, or for you to get any advantage by getting others to buy. There were normal levels of Teirs for Kickstarter that every Kickstarter project have. Once the Kickstarter campaign was done, that was it, there was nothing else to buy. If you bought the Early Access/ In dev, that was also it, there was nothing else to buy. Him trying to make you think that this is like Star Citizen is a complete fabrication of his own mind.
Since the developers are not taking any money from anybody beyond the Kickstarter and Early Access/In Dev, and the pre-order on GoG, and eventually Steam, they don't even get that money till after the game releases, them "wasting time and sucking money" is also a complete lie from him.
The game is going to be finished, they are basically in the final steps, as in everything is in the game, the single player can be played, but they need to polish, balance, bug fix, and other things required to release a game. And they are doing that by not taking any more money from anyone other than Publishers. yes, that is right, they have a publisher that has been funding them for this game, a publisher that is going to want to see this get released.
So, yeah, believe Entropy at all, he has completely lied to you.
