I personally consider such behaviour as an unacceptable and negative stain on gaming industry and do not wish to support this kind of people. So if there are any gamers like me, they'd prefer to know about this side of Armikrog development team.

apehater: looks like release is delayed
avatar
shmerl: The release is delayed to September 8th:

Here's a quick update with latest news on the game. As we're approaching the finish line, we've come across some details in the game that we really want to address. Some of the issues are about tuning, while others are straight-up bugs fixes. Since we owe it to every one of you to give you the best possible game we can make, we've decided to push the game's release date back a few weeks to September 8th.

We've enjoyed and appreciated your overwhelming support throughout this whole production, and we want you to be proud of the game that you've backed. Mike and I both feel like releasing the game without addressing the last of these issues would be falling short of that.

In the next couple of weeks we'll send out a more detailed update with information on keys and rewards, but we wanted to make sure you were the first to get this info about the release.

Thanks everyone -- the adventure begins September 8th!

LordEbu: Do we really want a game from a homophobic developer? http://mostly-retro.com/2013/06/02/on-doug-tennapel-bigotry-and-supporting-hate/
nowdays we seem to live in some kind of horrible political correctness dictatorship! as long as the developers don't kill people or support horrible organizations (like the kkk), i'm fine.

This thought-policing business has got to stop. Unfortunately, nobody exists who's unobjectionable to everyone.

Do you know what Helen Keller and Nikola Tesla had in common? They were hardcore eugenicists. And were you aware that Caravaggio was a violent murderer? Turns out The Divine Comedy is and [url=http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/not-his-finest-hour-the-dark-side-of-winston-churchill-2118317.html]Winston Churchill was a hypocritical dictator.

Do I support TenNapel's far-right views? No. But the SJW belief that you can make the world "safe" and "clean" by boycotting and bankrupting anyone who makes you uncomfortable is, flatly, disturbing. It's a book-burning mentality that reminds me of 20th century fascism, or American McCarthyism. Scratch the surface of anyone, even SJW-endorsed celebrities like Beyonce or Jon Stewart, and you'll find something to make you uncomfortable. Sure, ethical spending is important, and I'm not saying you should donate to the KKK or Monsanto. But boycotting Armikrog over an ideological disagreement with its creator, whose game isn't even ideological? That's just creepy. People are too complex for that to be okay. You can't split the world into "good people" and "bad people" so easily.

Lots of points. And generally, yes, I agree. And I don't think anyone should boycott his work just because he's a piece of shit.

But this guy writes. for. breitbart. Fundamentalist right-winger trying to push his views on a world that has already debunked his views. A dirtbag.

Like I said, I've got no love for the far-right ideology. It reminds me of fascism and McCarthyism just as much as the hardcore SJ movement does, if not more. Breitbart is an utter hellhole--you've got my hearty agreement, there. But that article LordEbu linked was scary extremist propaganda as well, and I just had to respond.

Yeah, I didn't make it through much of that link. :) But I wasn't happy with what I found by myself.

But for the record, the reason I'm not buying this game is because it has a presale, separate soundtrack, is $30, and has looked completely uninteresting to me from well before who I knew I would be supporting by buying.

Lol! Fair enough. I won't be getting it until there's a big sale or something--way too expensive for my budget. And I still haven't played The Neverhood, so I might wait until GOG re-releases that before I decide whether to pick up the new one.
WTF! delayed again!

Armikrog is coming out tomorrow, and it looks like Pencil Test still didn't sort things out with GOG. They don't offer GOG keys for backers - only Humble Store. I'm not sure they even tried contacting GOG about it :( I don't want to end up buying it again just to get it on GOG, but that might happen eventually.

May be anyone from GOG's side can assist backers with this? A lot of people are upset about it.

GOG is not authorized to hand out free keys or otherwise distribute games without paying the rightsholder the agreed-upon amount per game, and they don't have backer lists. Not much they can do other than advise Bigotface to not alienate backers.

Starmaker: GOG is not authorized to hand out free keys
They can reach out to developers about it, since they offered to do it. Point is, it doesn't seem like anyone bothered to talk to GOG about keys.

Starmaker: they don't have backer lists.
Developers can supply them with backers lists if they wanted to. Of course if developers will just ignore this issue, then there is nothing GOG can do, but at least GOG can reach out to them to try.

Another concern that some people raised - it seems like the soundtrack is not available in FLAC format.

25 minutes left? :-)

Yeah. Are you going to buy it on GOG? So far they didn't respond to me, and it looks like backers won't get the GOG release.
It seems to be out on the game page: https://www.gog.com/game/armikrog_deluxe_edition
