''Promete ser otro juegazo por parte de este estudio español. Enhorabuena, esperaré las reseñas por parte de los propietarios en GOG''. -

''It promises to be another great game from this Spanish studio. Congratulations, I'll wait for the reviews from the owners at GOG''. -

Note: By the way, GOG... I think it's time to include Spanish as a selectable language in the platform's interface. Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world after Mandarin Chinese. And GOG has many Spanish-speaking users on its platform. Anyway, just a suggestion. -

Thanks!

It's pretty damn ballsy to call this "Alfred Hitchcock - Vertigo" when it's an entirely new story.
I am surprised that preorder bonus is just avatars - but that´s good, since I won´t regret not having that.
Will wait for the release with the purchase, since I like previous games from Pendulo Studios.

Yeah. It feels like calling your fantasy game "J.R.R. Tolkien - Lord of the Rings" because it was "inspired" by it.

I don't know who's the bigger fool: the dev coming up with this name or the person who gave permission without asking beforehand: "What the heck!? Can't you be a a little bit more... you know... creative?".

Now, now, the entire premise of Vertigo is about forcing somebody into a role that doesn't fit them and they weren't meant to play because of an obsessive inability to listen to reason, so it's actually really meta to call this Vertigo.

There's tons of stuff called "Alfred Hitchcock [something]" that has no real connection to Alfred Hitchcock in real life.

At least "Three Investigators" book series for young readers comes to mind. On the cover of those books there's no mention of the real writer, just the name "Alfred Hitchcock". The most confusing part is that many of those books were published after Hitchcock's death, so he couldn't have been even theoretically involved.

I think the game presumably has stronger Hitchcock connections than that, but who knows...

If I recall correctly, Hitchcock did appear in the novels as a character, didn't he? I mean, sure, any implication of the real world person being involved in writing the books is of course bullshit, but at least there was a connection to him in the story, it wasn't just his name and a title of his random films on the cover.

Yeah, I gotta say...

... I'd be VERY interested in this game if it was based more specifically on the Hitchcock movie (I'd love to see a Rear Window game as well!). Playing as Jimmy Stewart would be too cool. But as it is a different story and characters...

... not gonna waste the time or money.

And TBH, I don't understand who is supposed to be the market for this game? People familiar with the Hitchcock movie probably will have middling interest with a new story and IMHO after watching the media around this game, people unfamiliar with the Hitchcock film probably won't have much interest either.

Why would you buy into an IP like this? Just weird.

I have to agree with this. This would seem like a case where paying money from an IP seems like a waste. I can't see any benefit from using the IP.

I guess they got the right thus they'll put it in the title. :P
Respecting dead artists/people truly is gone.

We had "posthumous" albums, then we had "hologram" of dead people and now we just get artists names put into the title of something completely unrelated by someone that never knew them.

Seriously, I'm don't even think our dead should be "venerated" in the way they currently are, but can you please have some respect and not have someone dead name's associated to something they never agreed to just to drive sales?

Seriously it's basic respects. No one would like to have their name put on something they didn't make just so that the guy who made it can get some hundreds more sales.
Now, if the devs made a Vertigo game set in a 1958 noir (a la LA Noire), I'd be first in line. No need for open-world, just a period noir story with similar characters and themes.

I'm wondering if the estate of Mr. Hitchcock even approves these things.
