Turning stardust into wonders.

Age of Wonders: Planetfall is now available for pre-order DRM-free. Pre-order now to get the Paragon Noble Cosmetic Pack.

The Star Union didn't survive the cataclysm. Forge your own path in the ruins, deal with the other surviving factions, rebuild a collapsed empire in a deep 4X sci-fi strategy of epic scale. Master the turn-based combat or the intricacies of this emerging economy as you uncover the truth behind the fall of a great civilization.

Grab the Deluxe Edition which includes the game's OST, Artbook, an Infested Worlds scenario planet, and two cosmetic packs. Or go for the Premium Edition which also includes the game's Season Pass.
Owners of any Age of Wonders game on GOG.com get 10% off the Premium Edition during the pre-order period.
Shit, I'm really hyped with this one. But it's too expensive.

Another strange detail: According to the Premium Edition description, "Age of Wonders Planetfall: Premium Edition is the complete Planetfall experience and includes the Deluxe Edition Content and the Season Pass, which gives players access to three upcoming expansions and an instant reward."

To three upcoming expansions?
Are there going to be more than three expansions? Won't the Season Pass give access to all expansions?

Paradox, you make great games, but are too greedy...
Am I blind or is there no way to switch between editions? Suppose I preorder now, what will I get? Standard? Deluxe? Premium?

They have separated pages.
Age of Wonders: Planetfall - Deluxe Edition Pre-Order
Age of Wonders: Planetfall - Premium Edition Pre-Order
ahahahaha.

it's great that you're making and publishing 4x games, paradox.

your business model is less great.

like some folks say instabuy, well...

...instaskip. :(

Paradox is not the developer, you will probably not get an endless line of DLC here. Age of Wonders 3 had only 2 DLC.
And all those DLC contained actual stuff that deserves to be in DLC and in multiplayer it is enough that host has them.

Anyway, anyone know if this 10% of premium edition applies if I own previous age of wonders trough other venues?

Of course it will! There are four seasons though...
Honestly, expected was a more spectacular pre-order trailer.
I am holding off until we have more information. The GOG version of Age of Wonders 3 had DRMed LAN play. (As in LAN play wasn't LAN play but called out to the Internet.) If we can get a clarification on this (GOG? Is it in the contract?!!?), I'm in for Premium.

EDIT: EULA space at the bottom notes "Paradox account required for multiplayer." So it feels like it'll have onerous requirements for multiplayer. Thus, I'll likely be waiting for pricing that reflects that feature being lacking.

It seems there's no Linux support? It's odd for a Paradox-backed game.
(funds added to wallet for Premium Edition stay where they are ::sadface::)
I guess this is where my enthusiasm ends. Given the high prices, lack of discounts (only 10% off the most expensive version), lack of upgrades (not even a season pass) proven lack of Linux support (AoW3 only supports Linux on Steam) and unproven wine support, I can wait a few years on this.

Pre-ordering something that won't be out for another half year... makes totally sense. Gotta grab one before they run out of digital copies! =P

I'm definitely interested, but I'll wait for the after-the-fact reviews/impressions first.

I'll be really, really happy if I can get hot-seat and random scenario generator.
Is there any info on it, or would I need to wait till release and see for myself?

From their Steam Page FAQ:

…how about Linux?
We have nothing to communicate regarding Linux support at this moment.
Triumph hasn't been very nice to GOG Linux, when we asked them about AoW 3 they said this:

We’re sorry, but GoG currently just carries the Windows version.
When Galaxy hits this might change.
The issue is managing all the builds with updates in a DRM free environment.
Which I might add I find it rather unprofessional and lazy, Galaxy did hit and they didn't even provide the Mac version, other devs update their cross platform games on GOG without Galaxy. Until they release the Linux port of AoW3, this company is dead to me, regardless if it's owned by Paradox or not. I can't give my money to whom doesn't want to work.
