The chronicle of the Third Era is about to be revealed!

Age of Wonders 3, the long-anticipated continuation to the fan-favorite, award-winning strategy series, set in a robust and beautiful world that becomes the scene for diverse, complex, and engaging gameplay, is available for pre-orders on GOG.com. Depending on your location you'll be charged $39.99 or the USD equivalent of £29.99, or €39.99. An extended Age of Wonders 3 - Deluxe Edition, featuring a full soundtrack and the Dragon's Throne standalone scenario, is available for $44.99, £34.99, or €44.99. As a special pre-order bonus, both versions include the Elven Resurgence, a standalone scenario DLC.

Imagine! Empires rising and falling before your very eyes, led to victory or defeat by heroes of legend so powerful that they appear to be titans in the eyes of mortals. Sorcerers harness the arcane powers to bend the rules of the world around them. Theocrats twist the wills of their followers with the holy aura bestowed upon them by their deities for their zealous service. Rogues rule the shadows, taking any chance to strike and win before their foes even realize there is a war to fight. Warlords earn the loyalty of their legions by the glory gained in the many battles they emerged from, victorious. Archdruids become one with nature, and the land itself rushes to their aid. Dreadnoughts rely on the art of engineering to construct their unstoppable artificial armies. All those powers, all of their miraculous exploits, all of their desires, all thrown into one realm of war. This shall truly be an age of wonders!

With Age of Wonders 3, Triumph Studios aims to set new standards not only for the acclaimed Age of Wonders series, but also for the turn-based strategy genre itself. Taking advantage of all the modern gaming bells and whistles, the title will deliver an impressive level of complexity in gameplay and an immersive, lush, and diverse gameworld that can become your own for hundreds of hours. With the ability to choose one of the six leader classes, you'll be able to custom-tailor your empire--and by extension your experience with the game--to your personal gameplay style, so you can enjoy the extensive campaign the game offers in any way you like. You'll be leading into battle armies recruited from within six humanoid races as well as some fantastic creatures and mythical monsters. The turn-based tactical combat itself will prove to be a challenge for the most seasoned of strategy gamers but also scalable enough for beginners to enjoy. With over 50 location types to explore and exploit, hundreds of abilities to master for tactical and strategic advantage over your foes, visually stunning presentation, and a smart random scenario generator providing virtually limitless replayability, this upcoming title may prove the only turn-based strategy game you'll need for many years to come!

Pre-order Age of Wonders 3, for only $39.99 or the USD equivalent of £29.99, or €39.99 on GOG.com (or opt in for the splendid Age of Wonders 3 - Deluxe Edition), and secure your entry to the fantastic realm of power and dominion, which opens to all the brave souls approximately on March 31. Note that Age of Wonders 3 is the first title with regional pricing on GOG.com in quite some time and this means that we are charging the USD equivalents of the official regional price.

Note, that just as we have done before in such occasions, we'll be throwing in a little something extra to the deal, to accommodate those of you, who end up paying more than the others due to the currency conversion rates applied. We've picked some games that fit well with the genre represented by Age of Wonders III, and if you're one of those people, you'll get to pick one of them. You'll be sent a gift-code allowing you to redeem one of the following excellent titles: Master of Magic, Lords of Magic: Special Edition, Eador: Genesis, King’s Bounty: The Legend, Disciples II: Gold, and Etherlords II.

Zurvan7: All the dram aside, I hate being the dev that has just released its game on gog for pre order. Imagine them reading the forums :p Bad timing is bad.
Why would you? They are aware that their publisher decision of screwing some countries is the reason for this (well, and gog for throwing their principles and our trust to the garbage), i don't see anyone complaning about the quality of the game.

Ganni1987: There's no need to put so much pressure on GOG cause of this,
Wrong, for people unhappy with this decision by GOG, and it looks like there are a lot of those people, it is the right thing to put pressure on GOG. They decided to drop one of their main policies and show a not too small part of their customers the middle finger with this. People should show them that this is not ok and the wrong way, besides it being really bad business practic to drop one of your unique selling points in such a stupid manner.

This title has the misfortune of being self published.

Ichwillnichtmehr: Don't take it personally.

The company you work for made a decision that A LOT of your customers are unhappy with, so you should expect some grief.

(And if you didn't expect the s**tstorm about this, then you don't know your customers very well.)

JudasIscariot: We do know our customers very well and we can see that there is a brown tornado, so to speak, rolling through here right now but it's better than avoiding the thread and leaving folks thinking we don't care.

(Don't worry I am not taking anything personally, in case you were wondering :P )
Actually the brown tornado happened because you don't, or at least you (GOG) did all the humanly possible to appear that way.
1-st of April ? Nah.. According to my calendar we are still in February..

There are some facts.. I am from Bulgaria (for anybody who has some troubles with Geography, just a tad South than Count Dracula).. Technically and juridically we are an EU country, but the "Deluxe" edition costs a third of the monthly income here, just because the price for us is in Euro... I was very eager to buy this game because I like the first one very much, second was passable... but I am NOT spending $54 for something that somewhere else (and for people with far better purchasing capabilities than me) costs almost a third less. This is VERY far from fair.

I understand GoG trying to accomodate, but by steps like these you are losing faith in the people who made you what you a re. You are walking a dangerous path. The only distinction from Steam remains the DRM, and very soon people will cease to care

People who bought the game like myself are not here complaining about this. Show me one site out there that is NOT offering this game with regional pricing and I would gladly go to that site and buy it there. That is what I don't understand, this is not GOG's decision.GOG either offers it this way or not offer it at all. I and many others are glad that it is being offered like this so we can buy it from GOG and add it to our gaming account.

Plus I just realized that I got a free game as well and just picked Disciples 2 Gold. Sweet.

Dear Triumph Studio! Did All-Devourer eat your brains?

And no, I won't be talking about regional pricing. If I ever had a character sheet I'm sure I would find a negative number next to the economics skill and I'm trying (sometimes without success) not to express opinions about matters that are beyond my comprehension. So my dear Triumph Studio, please remember that I don't address it (even partially!) to GOG or any publisher that was involved. I address it to YOU!

I may, however, mention that the first Age of Wonders is my favorite game ever. Rest assured that it won't change in foreseeable future and definitely not because of Age of Wonders 3. Simply because I won't buy this game.

I mean... what is this? Day one DLC?! Nope, better! Two DLCs! But hey, why not three? You should have done it with three! It would certainly fit better! Since your game is AoW 3! Get it? Age of Wonders 3 and three DLCs. Ha, ha! But I may forgive you, one of your DLCs is preorder exclusive so you do care! How nice of you!

You sank so low that I can see you very close to the bottom. Sadly, from the other side...

And since you are obviously brainless at the moment (bad, bad All-Devourer!) how about a few pointers from your friendly green and always ugly Ghorpm?
1) Dire Penguin DLC and it's a must. Believe it or not but every time I start AoW pbem game with my friends we start with an obligatory quarrel about Frostling because 5 out of 7 people want to have dire penguins in their army. I'm not one of them but I can assure you that my friends are total freaks about dire penguins and they would buy a DLC even for 100$. Please keep in mind that they would do so even though they won't buy the base game because disgust is all they can feel now. But hey, I'm sure they are not the only ones crazy about penguins! And if you are still not convince I can do better:
2) Dire Penguin enhanced DLC. Basically the same as before but a player will be able to produce only four penguins. Why, you ask? Isn't that obvious? Those will be the Penguins of Madagascar, duh! NOBODY will be able to resist that! I think I don't even need to mention that each penguin should have a separate characteristic and unique abilities.
3) Queen Julia's armor DLC. That was a peaceful evening... with vodka I may add... and then suddenly my friend (a female!) asked: "How did they make Julia's armor that it fits to her bellybutton?" Four hours and three bottles of vodka later we still didn't find the answer. Not that I expect this DLC to solve this problem (that would be a blasphemy!) but I would like to experience this once again. This is my favorite armor ever (and I'm really serious now!) so I would buy this DLC for 100$ for sure (without the game but who cares?)
4) It seems that you like exclusive stuff so organize a competition: "Catch the All-Devourer!" Basically you have to hide All-Devourer somewhere on the map and then first people who find it will get a special artifact. What will it be? Duh! Triumph-Studio-Developer's-Brain-In-A-Jar! This must be an exclusive prize because obviously you can't give away more brains then you have team members. Actually it can be even less because I have a hunch that some of you may lose your brains even earlier.

And don't worry! I'm doing it for free, I'll never ask you for my share and I'm more then certain that if you implement those features you'll get a lot of money!

Take care of yourself! It must be hard to do it without a brain but you'll manage, I'm sure of it.

Always yours
(and always ugly) Ghorpm

In place of rocks, I come bearing a crack that can be used to turn a valve to increase pressure.

peixoto: I have about 200 games from here and now I´m a little afraid to spend more money without thinking about Gog ignoring another core principle in the future.
But for a game as good as AoW3 you have to understand that GOG had to quit it's core principles...

Did you also send them an email? They've got a contact email openly placed on their website.
Too long thread to read it whole. I just ask quickly. Will be Age of wonders DRM-free?
Thanks

I think about ordering it at retail from another country. That's some economic freedom I obviously don't have in the internet economy. Here on GOG I would have to pay $55 which is a bit to much considering that one might get it for $17 somewhere else. My impression is that GOG is actually embracing the regional pricing fully - their resistance seems quite weak at least. I wish they would fight stronger.

But leaving everything aside I cannot buy this game from here. It is too expensive.
