The chronicle of the Third Era is about to be revealed!

Age of Wonders 3, the long-anticipated continuation to the fan-favorite, award-winning strategy series, set in a robust and beautiful world that becomes the scene for diverse, complex, and engaging gameplay, is available for pre-orders on GOG.com. Depending on your location you'll be charged $39.99 or the USD equivalent of £29.99, or €39.99. An extended Age of Wonders 3 - Deluxe Edition, featuring a full soundtrack and the Dragon's Throne standalone scenario, is available for $44.99, £34.99, or €44.99. As a special pre-order bonus, both versions include the Elven Resurgence, a standalone scenario DLC.

Imagine! Empires rising and falling before your very eyes, led to victory or defeat by heroes of legend so powerful that they appear to be titans in the eyes of mortals. Sorcerers harness the arcane powers to bend the rules of the world around them. Theocrats twist the wills of their followers with the holy aura bestowed upon them by their deities for their zealous service. Rogues rule the shadows, taking any chance to strike and win before their foes even realize there is a war to fight. Warlords earn the loyalty of their legions by the glory gained in the many battles they emerged from, victorious. Archdruids become one with nature, and the land itself rushes to their aid. Dreadnoughts rely on the art of engineering to construct their unstoppable artificial armies. All those powers, all of their miraculous exploits, all of their desires, all thrown into one realm of war. This shall truly be an age of wonders!

With Age of Wonders 3, Triumph Studios aims to set new standards not only for the acclaimed Age of Wonders series, but also for the turn-based strategy genre itself. Taking advantage of all the modern gaming bells and whistles, the title will deliver an impressive level of complexity in gameplay and an immersive, lush, and diverse gameworld that can become your own for hundreds of hours. With the ability to choose one of the six leader classes, you'll be able to custom-tailor your empire--and by extension your experience with the game--to your personal gameplay style, so you can enjoy the extensive campaign the game offers in any way you like. You'll be leading into battle armies recruited from within six humanoid races as well as some fantastic creatures and mythical monsters. The turn-based tactical combat itself will prove to be a challenge for the most seasoned of strategy gamers but also scalable enough for beginners to enjoy. With over 50 location types to explore and exploit, hundreds of abilities to master for tactical and strategic advantage over your foes, visually stunning presentation, and a smart random scenario generator providing virtually limitless replayability, this upcoming title may prove the only turn-based strategy game you'll need for many years to come!

Pre-order Age of Wonders 3, for only $39.99 or the USD equivalent of £29.99, or €39.99 on GOG.com (or opt in for the splendid Age of Wonders 3 - Deluxe Edition), and secure your entry to the fantastic realm of power and dominion, which opens to all the brave souls approximately on March 31. Note that Age of Wonders 3 is the first title with regional pricing on GOG.com in quite some time and this means that we are charging the USD equivalents of the official regional price.

Note, that just as we have done before in such occasions, we'll be throwing in a little something extra to the deal, to accommodate those of you, who end up paying more than the others due to the currency conversion rates applied. We've picked some games that fit well with the genre represented by Age of Wonders III, and if you're one of those people, you'll get to pick one of them. You'll be sent a gift-code allowing you to redeem one of the following excellent titles: Master of Magic, Lords of Magic: Special Edition, Eador: Genesis, King’s Bounty: The Legend, Disciples II: Gold, and Etherlords II.
I would have preordered the Deluxe Edition for $44.99 but of course not for €44.99 which is $62... I already own all games GOG is offering to accommodate this regionally-priced nonsense. As on steam I wait for a 75% discount now instead of insta-preordering this game.

WIth currency conversion I would have to pay $64... Almost $20 more... Thank you so much GOG for dropping your CORE principle and treating us unfair.

For Poland it's:

EUR 23.99
EUR 28.99

At a certain moment I was considering buying previous parts of AoW but no manual - no buy.. Now I see AoW 3 has no manual as well. What's this?

EDIT: There is a glitch on a game-card.

Redfern: On other side, here in Russia prices is kinda low...

IAmSinistar: Ha! I'd like to set up a gift trade with you, just to see if it works. Let me know what you want in trade for the Deluxe edition.
I'm also interested in finding that out (and I guess man others are as well)! Please keep us posted!

Pheace: $39.99 base game, US price

crazy_dave: Interesting no VPN?
None. I imagine if they reintroduced Geo-IP they'd mention it, although something will have to change or they'll get the publishers on their back soon enough probably.

The 'compensation' seems to be mostly 5.99 games.

For the cheapest version the difference is regional price difference is +15 dollars, 30% of which is GOG's profit margin, which is $5.
The cost to GOG of a 5.99 game is 70% of that game, so $4.20

So even on the basic version they're already profiting from the Regional pricing, despite the 'compensation' .

Hey khudos for that! Simple idea! :D
Age of Wonders 3 - deluxe edition
steam - 13.99 euros
gog - 44.99 euros
WTF?

trusteft: You can get the Ubisoft (yes you read that right) Ubisoft Exclusive retail version of Age of Empires Collector's Edition for almost nothing. I got it for like 3 euros from Amazon. They are DRM free and they include all the expansion packs.
Then there is a MS AOE III complete edition which I found for 10 euros last year on Amazon.
Drm free too.

HGiles: Seriously? No Starforce/Securom, CD checks or online activation?
As far as I know.
Honestly, even if you ignore regional pricing altogether, the US price is already ludicrous for this game.

Most interesting ... they got sued and lost by a distributor last time they didn't use geoIP, I wonder if something has changed ... or they just haven't implemented it yet

jackalKnight: You people just won't let up with the whole "we're getting LucasArts!" myth, will you?
avatar
HGiles: Getting LucasArts or an equivalent studio would be the only thing worth this.
You're NOT getting LucasArts. It's in Disney's hands and Disney could clearly care less and wants to DRM things to the end of time. Is it too much to ask that people on here ask for things that have even a remote chance of appearing?

xxxIndyxxx: Be sure to mail it to triumph as well please.

Bloodygoodgames: Oh I'll be sending them a nice little tweet. I always do with any game I boycott, and I tell the publisher why

If there's room in my 90 characters, it usually ends with "Fuck you" :)

Although I think Triumph has probably already figured out their chances of selling many copies of this overpriced price-gouging piece of junk on GOG are probably very low, as I can guarantee you someone from the company is reading this forum thread.

I'm sure they are also thrilled to see their name being dragged through the mud by 90 percent of the people responding to this release. Of course, for that they can thank themselves for their greed and GOG for their complete lack of principles.

Nice going, guys :)

And on that note, I'm off to bed. Need to be nice and refreshed tomorrow when I start looking for a new place to buy my games.
It's a real shame though, as far as I know they are from the Netherlands and I hate to hate a developer from the country i live in. If Larian does the same with Original sin, then the same happens with a developer from the country I was born in (Belgium). I am rather sad about this.

That's where Steam's regional pricing is working to your benefit I think... for that price, even I would've picked it up :p

jamyskis: Age of Empires Collector's Edition has no DRM and no CD checks.

Age of Empires 3 Complete has a CD check and a local serial check, but nothing online.
Sweet, off to purchase.
LOL

No GOG, You wont get my money like that, regional pricing is one thing but FAIR pricing is more important.

I also notice that no staff have had the balls to make any comment in here as yet.
What I really don't like about it is that GOG just display me the price on the gamecard and doesn't tell me that would I come from somewhere else I would probably pay less or more.

I think this is a bit dishonest and intransparent. Sorry GOG, you are not better than the others. This was a chance to do better.

Also (although it is kind of obvious, EU, UK, rest of world) they give no clear information where the regions are located. I would have liked a clear depiction of the regions.

$1=1€ I really hate it. 40% worse prices.
