groze: Same thing with Sundered. I have pre-ordered from GOG in the past and never came by anything like this, maybe it's some sort of new label/tag to more easily identify pre-ordered games when browsing through one's library?
avatar
Starmaker: Must be a GOG quirk then.

Why haven't you played Sunless Sea, though? A reckoning is not to be postponed indefinitely.
I have played Sunless Sea but never changed the tag in my library! Hahaha! At first, my tags actually helped me keep things remotely organized but, now, I usually don't bother and tag everything under 'Next to play'.

SeduceMePlz: This looks great! It reminds me somewhat of Bushido Blade 2, which was a blast playing with friends. Will it have local co-op and versus mode? Support for two or more controllers?

Also: Hooray for more fighting games on GOG! :)
Bushido Blade! I loved that game! It's such a shame that nothing like that was ever made again for modern systems. If Absolver is like Bushido Blade then that would F-ing amazing.

pre-orders, paid beta/early access, regional discriminating prices, steam(like) client , all brought to GOG in the past few years.

will they (gog) bring DRM because:

"we need DRM to get more AAA titles"
and/or
"everyone else is doing it"
"Pre-orders done right"

Nope, sorry, pre-orders are still bullshit. No matter what you throw in to entice people, it's still a shitty practice that ruins gaming.

Why is Pre-Ordering Bullshit?

I Pre-Order a game for the mere fact that I just want to have the game, and my fanancial forcast is in doubt.

Say this game I want to buy cost 60 dollars and releases in 2 months. Its a game I really want so I Pre-Order just to insure I have it and avoid the risk of not having new money paid to me on release day.

So really what is the problem with Pre-Orders?

Some points to consider:

- What if the game isn't very good/ isn't good at all/ unplayable at release (need patches) etc?
- Also, by being digital it means there is no stock so it can't be "sold out" -- isn't that an insurance that you WILL have it whenever you choose to buy it?
- And about your money, learn how to save them so you can also use them whenever it's needed. ;)
Must be a slow week since the front page is littered with pre-orders and indies :P

You can just put the money away for buying it. You don't have to actually spend it. And if your financial situation is in doubt it's all the more reason to wait and see if the game is actually worth the money. Pre-orders are the reason so many games are released unfinished, bugged or simply broken and why things are promised that are never delivered and we end up with Colonial Marines or No Man's Sky. But people don't learn a damn thing, and keep repeating the same mistakes.
I don't see what's so right about these preorders.

every time the word "ABSOLVER" appears on the front page i initially see it "ASSLOVER."

that said, the game looks pretty neat.
There's only one way to do a pre-order right:

- Wait for release day
- See what bribed game "journlolists"/youtubers/your peers who fell for the pre-order scheme have to say
- If by some miraculous set of circumstances it turns out that the game you have your eyes on does not suck: but it
- xXx1337haxxor4lyfxXx-PROTIP: In case of pre-order exclusives, wait until the obligatory "Game Of The Year/Ultimate/Deluxe/Special" edition launches half a year later, probably at a discount, too. You'll be able to pick up that bonus game you were promised at 90% off along the way.
"Pre orders done right"...

I'm at a loss...
10% off of a new game and a 20 buck game for free, not a bad deal. Can't believe how whiny some people are about this.

I'm kind of in this mind set for this pre-order

Looking at the page for Furi, it's a good game, so I could look at it as I'm buying that game and getting this for free or $10, so if I don't like this it's only a waste of $10

On the other hand I do find it weird that they feel the need to add more reason to pre-order by adding the "free" game as an extra incentive, maybe people like the two steam links have had too many bad experiences with pre-orders that people are just being more cautious

I guess in a way I can thank No Mans Sky for that, the pre-order mass return for that was a new record from memory
