Be the very first to play!

<span class="bold">The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt</span> is now available to preload on GOG.com. If you have pre-ordered the anticipated, next-generation RPG, you can choose to pre-load the game and be one of the very first to play once it goes live on May 19th.

The simplest way to preload the game is through the just-released GOG Galaxy Beta. GOG Galaxy is fully integrated into the DRM-free release of <span class="bold">The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt</span> and includes convenient auto-updates, game time tracking and achievements. Of course, you can also preload manually by downloading the available files off your shelf on the website.

The preload includes subtitles in every language and full English voiceovers. Once the game is live, you'll have the option to download an additional ~3GB language pack with voiceovers in your preferred language.

Nephilim88: 50GB? As far as I know, the full game size will be 35GB... it's also stated in the requirements on the game's store page...
The installer says 25GB is required, so I wonder how large the patch would be :)

Well... we'll see :) I just don't want to spend another night downloading and thus play it the day after release -_-

Crap, the 5th installer file seems to be corrupted... Another 5 hours with GOG's abysmal download speeds...

Now I remember why I usually opt to disable automatic updates on Windows.

Last evening I started downloading TW3 preload, as well as Darksiders 1-2+DLC, Metro:LL and Saints Row 2-3 with the GOG Downloader (because Galaxy wouldn't start downloading the TW3 installer for some reason).

In the morning, instead of seeing completed downloads, I was greeted by the Windows login screen. That fjucking Windows update had obviously downloaded updates, and rebooted the system, aborting the downloads (after logging in, I got a notification that Windows has installed updates). It seems it was aborted already during the TW3 download, so time to restart the downloads for all of them again...

Which reminds me how Linux is so much nicer, as it never seems to reboot the system due to mere system updates.

Well... that's a pity I want polish version of voiceovers - but will be forced to try and download a 3GB file first instead of playing. Why you don't post those language files before so we can all preload them and minimise load on launch?

I just hope voiceovers and subtitles laguage won't be region-locked, like other publishers like to do...

i have a trouble. In fact, when i launch downloading, GoG said to me i haven't space on my Disk. But i have more 800go... someone can help me please?

I downloaded using the GOG downloader but it only donwloaded 21.9 Gb. Everybody using Galaxy says it's 25. And even the manual download seems bigger. Does anyone know what's wrong?

As I understand it, Galaxy downloads the unpacked files while the downloader and manual downloads are compressed (though why they're different sizes is beyond me). At any rate, I used the downloader and it installed just fine with the 21.9 gigs, so there's no need to worry about the file size.

Does anyone know that If you are only going to use English subtitles and voice-over, that this will pretty much be the full extent of the download?

Or is it just best to wait until the day of the release and download the game then?

Apart from the activation patch that you will need to download when W3 comes out that is pretty much it.

The preload contains English subtitles and voiceovers + subtitles for other supported languages. Other voiceovers of ~2,5-3GB will be available for download on the premiere day.
