Your journey to Night City is close at hand! As of today, you can pre-load all the necessary files to install Cyberpunk 2077 through your GOG GALAXY app. This way you’ll be able to dive into the most anticipated open-world RPG quickly on 10th December, when the grand premiere of the game takes place.

While we’re at it - take a look at our video below! We’ve created it along with the game’s creators to show you how super grateful we are that you’ve chosen to pre-order Cyberpunk 2077 on GOG.COM, where 100% of your money goes to CD PROJEKT Group.

We can confirm that offline installers will be available at launch, at 1 AM CET. We'll continue to immediately update them with the latest patches after the game's release.

You may have noticed the pre-load is getting updated - it's the 10GB release patch we've implemented now so you can enjoy a smooth launch. The update is 10GB BUT it actually implements changes to some of the existing files, meaning around 50GB of data has to be changed. That is why GOG GALAXY needs roughly 50-60GB of free space for the patch to successfully update.

Alternatively, you can uninstall the pre-load and install it again - that should also do the trick.

You and his/hers problem are not similar or even related. Anyway, have fun in night city!

pulsemyne: And wouldn't you know it but that code looks similar to mine. FFS.
No matter, buy the game you want on GOG directly next time...

so at which time can we download the game in Europe (Germany) Straight 00:00 AM or is there a certain delay?
avatar
pulsemyne: Oh it's certainly not a scam. Tried it on steam as well to make sure but no. No lucky. Seems like either GOG is in error or the code was incorrectly printed.

Gersen: A mod has posted the following in the Cyberpunk subforum if it can help you:

https://www.gog.com/forum/cyberpunk_2077/cd_keys_code_not_valid_for_cyberpunk_2077
lol.
Thats literally my code minus a couple of characters in the end.

Um Eins.
Plus/minus ein paar Minuten.

IIRC it's at 00:00 UTC which means that for Germany it would be at 01:00 AM
So how do I download the game? I am expecting the key to be sent to by Amazon tomorrow, but I want to have downloaded it - considering its size.

Two options:

1) Through your library (look for "backup offline installers" on the Cyberpunk 2077 game card) here on the gog.com website (after you have redeemed the key, via https://www.gog.com/redeem)
2) Via Galaxy

I strongly recommend the first option.

If you're thinking of pre-loading; you can't, not until the game have been added to your account, and that won't happen until the key/code is redeemed.

90% of these complaints are about having to use a client, not about DRM. Clients do not require DRM, and are not DRM themselves. #TheMoreYouKnow

sanscript: And speaking of inequality; CDPR did, according to some early testers, "censor" the game or scale the promised game down.

They can't show this in video sequences yet, but there are apparently a seriously lack of male nudity, something that even MadQueen is baffled over. F.ex. male strippers/workers are none to be seen in a world that is obsessed about exposing themselves (not unlike today).

I mean, in a ES Skyrim setting it would make no sense to have much of male nudity, but like today (realistically), I find it hard to believe that even in 2077 that these are nowhere to be seen. Funny enough, she was looking for one-night-stands and some romance. Even early taglines for the game were something like "adult world for adults" and "your world - your choice".

I know this is strange coming from a straight male with a straight wife, but I think If you're going to make a game about the deviant side of the human nature and psyche (which is exactly what Mike P. are talking about), you might as well show both sides of the coin, for both men and woman. I really don't get it, it IS an FPP RPG game after all.

Was it to show that only women are exploited or to hinder straight woman gamers from getting exited(!)?

EDIT: The comment she made “You do need a horny art director who is into men...” seem to be true.
More like pandering for a very specific type of gamer nerds and illusion of choice lol.

I agree, Galaxy in itself isn't DRM - hiding singleplayer elements behind an online activation is.

Unfortunately, as nice as it would be to take a surgeons scalpel and neatly separate Galaxy and DRM into two neat piles, with 100.000% separation and 0.000% overlap, with comments like this from senior GOG moderators over the future of Galaxy, it clearly isn't that possible in the real world anymore is it?...

Define "online activation" here man. Signing into Galaxy to download the game and associated files is not an "activation." You do that same thing even if you use the website. If the Cyberpunk download from Galaxy works without contacting the internet on a new machine... which I very much assume it will... then it has no DRM.

Again, you're conflating client with DRM, they are different things. There are many DRM games on Steam even.
The game needs an update. I try to do this but get the message that I do not have enough space. No idea how big is the patch and no idea where to find this info. Halp.

It's around 9GB, if that one post I saw earlier somewhere else is to be trusted.
So, make sure that you have at least (or more, to be one the safe side) that much free space on C:\ and on which ever drive you installed the preload of Cyberpunk 2077 to.
