I'm thinking about buying a game but I want to give the copy to someone else. I already have it. Can I dothis?
You bet. At checkout, chose the Gift option, right above the Pay button. If you enter your own email address then the code will be emailed to you and you can email that to whomever, or save it for later.

Yes, you can buy it as a gift and either send the code directly to the mail adress of the person who should get it or send the code to your own mail, so you can gift it to someone in the future.

Just check the "Gift this order" box at the checkout site.
I think you need to purchase a game for yourself first, before GOG lets you purchase gifts. Beyond that though, it's just a matter of checking the "purchase as gift" check box at the checkout page and enter an e-mail address for the code to be sent to (can be your own if you want to include the code in a personal message).

Yes it is, you'll find the option to gift the game in the checkout screen, near the total price below. Since you already have it, it should be already checked..

Since when? I don't think that's true.

EDIT: Oh, I think I misunderstood. You meant you need to have bought *any* game on GOG first (that is be an actual customer of GOG), before you can buy gifts? That's entirely possible. Sorry!

Oh, yeah, I missed that. In that case it's instead impossible to NOT purchase it as a gift.

Confirmation that I remembered correctly:
https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articles/212159529-I-cannot-buy-a-game-as-a-gift-why-

I cannot buy a game as a gift, why?

We had to implement some restrictions for buying gifts with some payment methods, for security reasons. We know this can be an inconvenience, and we're very sorry about that.

As stated in checkout, in order to gift games, you need to have purchases, worth at least $10 / €9.19 / £6.69 / A$13.99 / 719.00 RUB / 55 DKK / 70 NOK / 65 SEK / 30 PLN / C$ 10 / 10 CHF, made at least 3 months ago. Unfortunately we are unable to lift this limitation, but in some cases we might be able to help manually. Please contact us via the support form for more information.

Yup, I realized I've misread your comment, sorry!
Keep in mind the recipient also needs a GoG account. I bought Pharaoh for my sister, but she didn't get the game because she didn't have an account.

Before they can redeem the code, yes. But the recipient can register after you've bought and sent them the code, too -- it might just seem like more of a hassle, depending on how computer- and web-savvy they are.

All she needs to do is make an account and then the gift should work fine.
