There are no resellers for GOG codes, it's a grey market version. Some of them are bought with stolen credit cards from GOG and then sold on various platforms, e.g. ebay shops. Be warned, such codes were removed from accounts in the past, which could render you without the game, even though you've paid for it. The only legit source for a digital GOG version is gog.com. I'd get my money back from this ebay purchase as fast as I could, if I were you.

Needless to say, never give anybody your GOG credentials. Them asking, smells very fishy!
Cancel your purchase and get in contact with ebay, there's something wrong.

I've seen sellers like this on ebay. Usually, they ask for your login, or alternatively they will create a new account with the game you want and send you the login of that account. As they have excellent feedback I presume they actually do provide the game.

You could either (a) take the latter option if available and ask them to put it on to a fresh account (b) create a new account yourself solely to play W3 and send them the login or (c) pursue a refund.
Take option (c). The Witcher 3 will be on sale here on GOG very, very soon!
Thanks for the feedback, so there are no game keys like steam in gog ? Thats the only way to activate a game bought outside gog?

Not quite true. Humble Bundle and are official sellers, although on Origin it doesn't state whether it is actually a GOG key; I assume it is because outside of Steam they all seem to be GOG keys like all the ones that came with the graphics card promos. [url=https://www.amazon.com/Witcher-Wild-Hunt-Online-Game/dp/B00WTI3SGO/ref=sr_1_1_twi_sof_1?s=videogames-download&ie=UTF8&qid=1480286577&sr=1-1&keywords=witcher%2B3&th=1]Amazon sells GOG keys as well, although, curiously enough, they only offer the base game and expansion pass separately and no GOTY version. It also used to be sold on either the uPlay or Square Enix store.

Back to Origin description I found this odd line: "Game uses DRM FREE technology." How can something be a form of tech if it describes something that doesn't exist? Silly CDP. =P

GOG games are usually not sold outside GOG. The only exception is Witcher 3 and you do receive a key normally if you buy it from official stores (like Amazon or Humble Store). I'm not quite sure why this ebay seller doesn't just give you the key. Surprisingly, Witcher 3 on Origin is not a GOG key (at least, the pre-GOTY version wasn't).

A template set by EA for games that are not theirs. For instance, Ubisoft games say something like "Game uses Uplay technology", while Pillars of Eternity says "Game uses Steam technology". In the case of Witcher 3, CDPR might have requested that EA mention that the game is DRM-Free and so EA went with that.

Ask them why they want this info. Then ask ebay to investigate on your behalf.

;-) I know, I know, Witcher 3 is among the very few exceptions, where you can get GOG keys from selected known distributors as well, but definitely not from classic resellers, let alone ebay shops. Anyway, you can't possible recommend buying it at Humble, Amazon or even Origin, especially when there's a sale just around the corner at GOG's. Hence I didn't even went there with my argument. The behaviour and offer of this ebay shop is suspicious at best. To be on the safe side, he really should get a refund and buy it here.

Btw, as far as I know most of the codes included with GeForce offers, expired in 2015 and it wasn't allowed to sell them separately.

Since Asbeau knows of shops creating GOG accounts to sell games (which isn't allowed by GOG's terms of use either) it's probably a bit far-fetched, but there's another idea. Are you absolutely sure, it's the shop asking you? You could be target of an attack. Maybe someone pretends to be the shop to get personal information, like copies of said personal documents and your (standard) password. However, don't send anything more.

Nope.

I'd say that's valid in general.
Never give anybody your passwords!

That... actually would be a good attack. Heh.

Most people have 1 password (that isn't even that strong), and use it everywhere. So your Steam password might be the same as your yahoo password or gmail password, opening you up to a ton of privacy issues.

I have at least 3 passwords (6, 8, 13+) depending on security level, and now new passwords are generated per-site via a PW generation tool.
Why would you buy keys off of eBay? Don't be so cheap and/or stupid!

Report them to ebay. Asking for any account name and password is a no-go. They only would need that for a scam, not for a legitimate key.

And yes, there are sometimes legit redeem keys for GOG, like others pointed out. But there also have been lots of scamming attempts with shady keys. So best get your games here or on humble-bundle. And NEVER EVER hand your your account details to anyone.
