Some were not a fan of the FPS view when the game play was released. Credit to CDPR. They are listening to fan feedback, and determining if they can provide a third person option.

Morrowind/Oblivion/Fallout 3/etc all use 3rd person and 1st person view.
I think it's logical to do the same. Helps to bring more immersion and diversity to gameplay.

It's always nice to put on armor and switch to 3rd person view to see how it looks with currently equipped weapon. :D

I'd certainly welcome that. The game would definitely go back on my 'must buy' list if they manage to do it.
“We are firm in that decision [about first-person perspective]”
Just because they're "aware" of some people's concern is a far cry from actually confirming an implementation of a third-person perspective option.
I'm a great fan of FPP - better immersion... I can understand the concerns and wishes of people preferring TPP (you all want to stare at a nice female butt, admit it!).

I'd be glad if they manage to make all people happy, but on the other hand TPP needs special level design - higher and more spacious rooms so the camera fits in behind and above the player character, whereas FPP allows for more realistic proportions. That's something that always puts me off in games designed with TPP in mind (like ie. Max Payne, although I still love everything else about the game).

Hey, I have a medical certificate proving that I get nausea and motion sickness when I can´t stare at a female butt.
I take it people were crying it wasn't like The Witcher and it was a First Person Shooter?
Good that they are considering it. Personal preferences aside, motion sickness is a real pain for some people. Letting the player choose would be an ideal situation.

But is it a real pain when the game has proper FOV implementation?

I think I've mentioned this before, I'm an extreme case, I need an FOV of 100-110 to avoid getting motion sickness. Which is a huge value considering that 90 should be enough. I ask because, I've never gotten nauseous when playing at around 110, and I think all those people saying that they still get sick, even when adjusting the FOV, just didn't set it high enough.

3rd person has one huge flaw in pretty much every game that has it. It encourages corner camping, be it versus AI or real players. Makes many games trivially easy and gives you a massive advantage (unless the game has mostly melee combat). But I don't have anything against the option being there in single player games. I'm still baffled by how any 3rd person shooter can be considered competitive.

Is motion sickness as widespread as it seems it is? Because I see complaints about FOV all the time when it comes to gaming but I thought that it is just a vocal minority. Never had this issue so I never inquired further.

I don't know how widespread it is, but I have to admit in my case the desire for TPP is purely preference. I hate FPP and won't even bother with games that only offer FPP. I was thinking about this more last night and am now wondering, even if they could add TPP to Cyberpunk, if it would actually be a good idea. They've said the whole game was designed with FPP from the get-go, so shoehorning TPP into the game would likely not end up with the best results. It likely wouldn't affect the FPP experience but it might mean the other experience would be sub-par, and that wouldn't be a desirable outcome at all.

It'll be interesting to see what/if they do anything. Of course, if they do add TPP, I'd be all over the game on release day.

I want isometric view as First Person is nauseating, and I don't want to look at some character model arse for x amount of hours, when will GOG listen and implement this, and top down for that matter.

They should just turn it into a side-scroller and call it a day.

Maybe I'm too pessimistic to see what you see; but to me it all reads like "We know. We just don't care; so suck it up" with a few fancy words added to blow it up to article length.

If they add TPP gameplay it will go from my "hard no" list to most likely a day one buy. Otherwise... meh.

It looks to me like the game has been built around eye-candy and political correctness, rather than story and mechanics, so a TPP option won't make that much of a difference for me. But I'll keep an open mind and hope for the best.
