Hey guys, I'm new here. I recently bought Populous The Beginning on PC through this site since I haven't played the game in years. I think I'm starting to love this site, I might recommend a few family members to join. I know Populous The Beginning is an ancient game. I have Windows 8 and typically stuck with it for now till I can upgrade to Windows 10. I was wondering if there is anyway to make Populous run with Windows 8, 8.1, and Windows 10? Are there any patches that can be used or anything at all? Or will GoG make Populous playable on Windows 10, etc sometimes in the future with updates/patches? Because I'm a member on Popre and I would love to play Multiplayer with my friends over there. Every time I run Populous it runs really low like its on dialup, and I hear the audio cut out really bad and the mouse is really laggy. The game its self runs fine during gameplay, but the audio chipping noise and the lagging mouse is what gets me, and my PC is just fine, mouse, audio, etc. So is there anyway at all to get it running with Windows 8? I tried changing the compatibility to Service Pack 3 even 98, etc. And even ran as Administrator, nothing worked. If anyone figured this out I would appreciate it. And am I allowed to install mods from popre site? As in adding custom maps/levels, etc. thank you. :)

EDIT: And I would like to wish everyone good Holiday week. I'm glad I found this site. :) "Sorry for editing" :)

EDIT: Again forgot to mention, Every time I try to launch Populous after I re-installed it it says unable to find 3D compatibility. What does this mean? Thank you. :)

Of course.

Regarding the bugginess, did you try running it in software mode? There should be 2 executables one for hardware and one for software mode.
