I see the OPs head isn't screwed on right. No suprise.

All this means is that the chowderheads who somehow can't navigate to libretro or figure out how to use it will have a new avenue to launch it. I can only hope the toxic community doesn't scare off the developers.

Traumatic Brain injury - throughout my whole brain 5%, Please Darvond try not to be a dick!

Even me with 5% brain damage can navigate the lib retro and can configure it and know how to use it and I have 5% brain damage all the way though and a spider webbed skull with deep lacerations to the base of my skull and busted neck vertebrae, I also am truly Asperger's Syndrome so yeah I lack in social sh!t that regular people already have integrated into them.

I'm so friggin groggy today - even though I don't drink, I stand up I get super spinning groggy, Lie down the room spins, symptoms of the brain damage and super tired and super foggy in the brain all the time.

Here is why I am like I am watch this short video and try to understand I don't mean anything by what I type I am trying my best after a nasty brain injury.

Does it also work as a frontend for DOSbox? And if so is it better than D-Fend?

It can.
This doesn't mean ROMs will be on Steam people. It isn't getting INTEGRATED into Steam, it is being distributed on Steam. Much like Some game booster programs and the like. This is just an avenue for picking it up.

Wow. People lose their minds over the simplest stuff.
GOG please get on this train!

Although it will be, as they've announced plans to incorporate Steam features via the Steamworks SDK post-release.

That's incorporating STEAM into Retroarch, not Retroarch into Steam. BIG difference. That will allow you to launch Steam games through Retroarch and possibly monitor/track achievements.

I'm going to write that up as my mind broadcasting the opposite to me as I hazily read it on my phone earlier.

Having looked at it with a clearer eye - where is it that anyone got the idea Retroarch was being put into the Steam client? Maybe I'm missing some critical context of other posts to the thread - not the first or last time that'll happen - but all I see is the very lofty hopes that they might be able to rope in developers/publishers sitting on catalogues of games that could be sold as ROMs at a future point.

fr33ksh0w2012 seemed to be under that impression and was spreading the info. I can blame it on his brain injury, but that's what got a few people hyped up on this thread.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see where fr33ksh0w2012 said that particular thing. Did I overlook something?

seriously? that's pretty simple question if you have nothing to hide

retroarch has core for dosbox if that's what you're asking. you can run dos apps with it, tho I see no reason why you should, dosbox is much easier to handle from its config file (at least from Linux, you might need to put you into that mood to edit text files on Windows :))

I'm still willing to believe I overlooked something, but that wasn't it...in that message fr33ksh0w2012 just says

"Not that IT MEANS all the Rom's are going to be sold on steam!"

...which either means all roms will or won't be sold on steam, depending on whether you think the "not" is literal versus a typo for "no, it means..."

But that particular post doesn't say anything about "Retroarch was being put into the Steam client".

Almost immediately they say something excited about ROMS and Gabe Newel, then a post about Nintendo and ROMs, and then end of that page.

But nothing about integration into the Steam client. Sorry if I'm being dense somehow.
