Granted, it had to be done with the type of movie they made. If it was more of a heist movie instead of a war movie, everyone could live and no one would wonder why they weren't in any of the battle scenes of A New Hope because they'd be spies and not soldiers.

Wait, there's only three Star Wars movies. What's the rest of this junk?

Even if I had watched Rogue One, I still couldn't vote, as for me each trilogy (including not finished one) is one whole, that can't be devided.

And of cause my favorite is Original trilogy.

Prequel trilogy is kinda so-so. I think Lucas mistake was that he havn't put much thought into making complex plot. Because, Original movies, despite all their greatness, were essentially made for teenagers in mind. But since then the teenagers had grew up, and so did the franchise where in games and books the Far-Far Away Galaxy was fleshed out in more detail. And Lucas haven't took that into account.

The Force Awakens is the worst in my book. Not only Disney fail to create reasonable plot continuation (twenty years or so and Empire still havn't been defeated?!), they just remade New Hope with a few minor details changed. Say what you want about Prequel Trilogy, but Lucas at least tried to come up with a new story.

About Anakin's mother who said that "He has no father!" I kinda expected that ment to mean "I don't wanna talk about his father" and later Anakin's heritage would be reveald (like his father was Palpatine or something like that).

I am still behing the theory that JarJar would be at least by the time of New Hope, either an antagonist or a secondary character made for fanservice ()even though I know that many MANY people do not like his character even by the least)

I like the originals, the introduction of a hero's journey to me was rather developed well, even though, to be honest, I have always wanted an explanation for the sabers, and just when I get some explanation in the prequels, it talks about the force....whooptie doo, a rule of the universe explained like Parasyte or Mitochondria from Parasite Eve, good grief, I expected way more for an unrelenting force coming from "thy will and thy blood" sort of stuff, something to really empower the mindset of the young since the movie was made for a new audience while also having a edgier look, thankd god that third movie could stand on it's own, imagine not having just the last movie that connects to the time line not having an actual drama to start getting the story something of interest...I would have never seen the reason people like starwars and I WOULD HAVE NEVER read and bought the books

My thoughts exactly.

I mentally snapped during the prequels, and have absolutely zero interest in seeing bland, charisma-free millennials attempt a cover song to a tune left on the dance room floor 30 years ago. Star Wars fans need to come to terms with the fact that the series peaked with Empire Strikes Back, and that was 1980. Ain't ever going back to the glory days. Time to put away the Yoda jammies and the toy lightsabers and move on.

Even I accepted that Star Trek (likely) peaked with Deep Space 9 and it's all been decline after that series closed.

Actually, RO1 surprised me. It was much better than any other new SW I, II, III or VII. I think that it may be best SW film since original trilogy. SW VII was the worst film in series for me.

My ranking:
1. SW V - Hoth combat and that shocking plot twist in the end!
2. SW VI - big combat, better FX, nice scenes. Vader's choice in the end.
3. SW IV - good film that started it all.
4. RO - surprisingly mature film for all series. Liked it!
5. SW III - how Anakin got wrong way. Nice, but very slow and even boring at some moments. And Jar Jar Binks - one of the worst characters ever.
6. SW II - few good scenes (clone army raising on water planet), but much more bad ones (final battle on arena is awful). And Jar Jar Binks - one of the worst characters ever.
7. SW I - boring movie for kids. And Jar Jar Binks - one of the worst characters ever got a lot of time on screen.
8. SW VII - worst SW film ever in my opinion: an array of fanservice scenes barely hanging together and simple won't able to make into a full movie. Like a bunch of different videoclips bounded together. And Kylo Ren - worst SW villian EVER!

I sort of pretend Episodes 1-3 don't exist, in my mind there's only 4-6 and the two new ones.

I still prefer Star Trek though, Star Wars is not real science-fiction in my book, but some kind of Space-Fantasy Action.

So you haven't seen the episode where Tom Paris breaks the upper warp barrier, mutates for reasons and then abducts Janeway, only to end up on some planet where now transformed into giant salamanders, proceed to get funky?

Or the episode where Captain Archer gets indignant because his dog got sick because he idiotically brought it down to a alien planet? And he's under fire because said dog also pissed on sacred trees?

Or how about the episode where a satyr appears on the bridge of the Enterprise and then magic hyjinx ensue because they went to the galactic core?

And you might want to watch Spock's Brain again.

Like I said, I never watched Enterprise and I don't intend to. When I first read that there was a new incarnation of Trek coming out, I decided there and then to ignore it. Star Trek was dead and buried to me at that point, viciously killed by a combo of Tom Hardy and Voyager being generic, bottom of the barrel-scaping, banal boring shit that retread the same ground that other Treks treaded on for hundreds of episodeds, but it hadn't become unprofitable quite yet, so they just had to keep on treading. No thanks, I'm not watching Enterprise. Never did, never will.

As for the de-canonized Transwarp travesty, yes, I saw that one. I sought that one out specifically, due to friends telling me how outrageously bad it is. It is pretty terrible indeed, but it has one thing that makes it superior to the baseball episode: it doesn't stop the show dead in its tracks. Like I said, DS9 built towards this enormous climax and the baseball show was SUCH a cock-block (on top of being a terrible episode). VOY was always just plodding along: "Herpy derp, 700 00000000 pajamajillion light yeers fruhm home! Ohhh, Neelix, you disgusting rainbow-trout coloured space abomination, what hilarious hijinks could you possibly up to this week?" So yeah, baseball episode = tarnishing the legacy and ruining the flow of an otherwise mostly flawless show. Transwarp episode: business (i.e. shit) as usual

I don't get the hate for Spock's Brain. Sure, it's dumb as a sack of hammers, but it's dumb in a charming way. Also includes one of my favourite exchanges of the entire show:

McCoy: "He was worse than dead!"
Kirk: (blank stare)
McCoy: "His BRRRRAIN is GOOONE!"
*music sting as we cut to a priceless reaction shot of Captain Shatner putting on his best DAFUQ face*

Speaking of dumb TOS episodes, you might want to mention "The Savage Curtain", in which a literal turd pits Kirk, Spock and Abraham Lincoln (don't ask) against the wicked witch of the East (whose clothing bare her midriff for some reason), Genghis Khan, Space-Hitler and a random Klingon warlord. Hilarity ensues. Still better than the baseball episode from DS9!


Oh yeah, rank the Star Wars movies...
