catpower1980: It's past 9AM so yeah maybe it's time to get out and work (damn, that applies to me too ^o^)

P1na: But... I work from bed. Busiest days, I stay in bed til 6pm. I'm not even kidding.
With this kind of "breakfast table bed" I suppose?

In the long run with this kind of configuration, that can be problematic for your shoulders (if you have tendinitis like me). It's more healthy to have something like a table to support your forearms (and arms of a chair to support your elbows) while typing (as it reduces the tension in shoulders).

Nope, it's typically lying on the bed and destroying my back. But who cares about unimportant things like the body.

Basically, it's that I check the computer as soon as I wake up, and start doing some stuff before getting up. Getting up, taking a shower etc. is basically my coffee break. If things are so busy I don't find time to take a break, I find staying in bed quite long. The feeling you get when you get up from bed at 5+pm and feel totally exhausted is... quite frustrating, honestly.

Well, this only applies to when I'm at my own house, as I usually have to deal with check outs in hostels and forced breakfast at my parents'.

P1na:
So why don't you do your work on a sofa or at the table? Is it because of some physical disability or just because you like to lie in bed?

I do that once I've gotten up. But getting up is hard, man.

To be fair, when I got this job I was living in a shared house in Ireland, and the people I shared the house with were... not people I was in a particular good relation with. So I didn't want to go to the living room in my pajamas, and stayed in bed until they left for work. Also that if many need to use the bathroom in the morning, makes sense the one staying home all day takes the shower last. That habit stuck, I guess.

I know. But try to work on it, it's really good for your body! And get some kind of a hobby exercise, like rollerblading or skating, to take quick breaks, it does wonders for your body! :)

Try to put some skates on your backpack and carry it around the world. I dare you.

The only thing I could reasonably do is running, and running is for cowards (and pretty boring).

In that case just pick the skateboard, that's an easy one! :)

Running is actually fun, why would you say it's for cowards? Imagine you're a warrior running off to a battle! After doing a Nike Speed Week thing now I feel like running in my spare time, whereas before I thought that jogging would be boring.

Warriors running off to battles may not be cowards, but they fall into traps. You have to carefully walk there.

Seriously though, I see people running while listening to music, I don't like music. I've looked into those audio books things, but I haven't been able to enjoy it at all. I like going out for a relaxed walk, but running through the place is not for me. I get bored (and tired).

I like to run without music, just by myself, do a quick one mile run or less, and that's it. Just to stretch my limbs and have that good feeling of really, really having exercised your muscles. But overall I prefer rollerblading, esp. when I go out for longer periods of time, however it doesn't exhaust and exercise me so well like those fast five minute runs.
