You know that game? If you've played many video games, you've probably seen it. You start out as a little fish, or something else, and eat other, smaller fishes in the sea. You avoid fishes bigger than you. Then you get bigger, by eating many fishes, which allows you to eat slightly bigger fish. You keep getting bigger till you win, or something. It's pretty hard to get there.

Well, I'm making a page listing examples of those games. But while most of us have seen a game like that, we probably haven't really kept track of their titles. This is why I need the help of you guys. If you can list in this thread the title and system of a Fish Eating Game you know of, I'd be really thankful.

Here are the examples I have:
- Shark! Shark! on Intellivision.
- Zombie Fish Tank on iOS.
- Agar.io is a game that provides an online multiplayer Fish Eating Game, with amoebas instead of the usual fishes.
- Fishie Fishie, by farbs.org

Please help me get more! Thanks in advance to any contributors.
I think Feeding Frenzy is what started this genre. Good ol' PopCap. Boy, how we miss the days before they sold out to EA.
There's also this one:

which was adapted into:

Thing is, that Intellivision game I listed was before that (because it was on Intellivision). This genre is as old as time. We'll never know which was the first game to do it.
O_____k

I remember that little circular game with all the fishes that went around and you had a little fishing pole with a magnet at the end! Good times.... Now it's all about graphics.

In that case, what you named is probably the first one. Feeding Frenzy is just, in my opinion, the epitome of that type of game. Nice avatar, by the way.

If they don't have to be about fish, but really anything in which you're supposed to eat smaller thing and avoid bigger things 'til you've grown enough to take them on, then I have the following suggestions:

Solar 2 - You start out as an asteroid and end up being an all consuming super massive black hole. You can also do various unrelated misc tasks.

Osmos – You're som kind of cell feeding on lesser cells while avoiding greater ones. Uses various variations on the theme.
I had fun with that game in college. In fact I downloaded the SWF file and still fire it up once or twice a year for the relaxing music.

Osmos looks interesting. Is it fun? Maybe GOG will carry it as it is DRM free and on all the operating systems.

It might be a bit too casual for gog. I've owned it since 2011 and it is not regarded as a classic as far as I'm aware, so I don't think it will turn up on gog. It's well made though and rather tranquil.

The gameplay revolves around the idea is that in order to change your momentum you have to dispose of some of your matter in the oposite direction of where you want to move; the greater the loss, the greater momentum change. This is a fairly clever mechanic that can lead to some interesting trade offs, like feeding the lifeform that's chasing you or losing mass in comparison to the thing you intend to eat in order to reach it. The particles you send away will also change the momentum of the things they collide with. All of the above can make certain stages quite tricky. That said it didn't hold my attention for long. I have thus far played it for three hours according to Steam and though I haven't completed it I feel no strong urge to do so. I might return to it though, but it's a game I think is better suited for short sessions when you have some time to kill rather than dedicated gaming time.
