Hi all!
Can someone please direct me to where I might obtain copies of the non-enhanced versions of Baldur's Gate I & II for Mac? I've never played them. From what I've been reading online, it's best to get both of the originals and run the EasyTutu mod. Also, if anyone has any info on the modding aspect, please feel free to include that as well, I've never "modded" a game. Does the mod work with a Mac? Thanks for any and all info that's provided. Thank you for your time.

Be well,

Mike

Easytutu's pretty well, easy, just tell it where you installed both games and then hit install or something like that if I remember right.

Besides pirating or buying physical copies, I don't think you can.
Original versions were removed from online stores.
As for where to obtain them, you need to purchase the "Enhanced" Editions as they were merged with them 2 months ago as they were doing too well and were robbing Beamdog of profit from EE thanks to being too good on their own.

I imagine the mods will work with the physical copies, correct? I think I can obtain physical copies.

I can't imagine why they wouldn't.

It's not like EasyTutu was made specifically for gOg version.
To get the original games, buy the Enhanced Editions. Those editions come with codes that will give you the original versions of the games.

Alternatively, since the codes can be traded, find somebody who might be willing to trade their codes for the original versions for something you could get, or see if someone is willing to give those games away.

Unfortunately beamdog have done everything in thier power to force you to buy thier version, which to be clear is nothing but the original with a widescreen mod. The new module only works with the "enhanced" version, if you have any interest in that. Personally I would pick up a cd version off amazon for 1p then disc image the discs.

As for modding, there is easytutu, and bgtrilogy, both off which combine the two games, its relatively simple. I would recommend you check out BigWorld setup. This is a program which gives you some setup options (ie.wether to make the game harder), it then downloads a lot of mods (gigabytes of them!) and does all the installation for you. It does all the combining, and patching and gives a huge content boost with all fixes, extra characters etc. Spellhold seems to be offline at the moment, but google should find it. Its a bit complicated, but the best modding you can do on the game. It works on the "enhanced" versions as well apparently, but I wouldn't know.
