Thanks triock, I suspect the GG version is the same as that then. The filesize there (998.88 MB) seems like it would correspond to around 2 CDs worth of content as well, so that's another good sign that the games are the same.

I don't know why they don't offer the first game in the series though, unless it's being held by someone else or has more issues getting to run on current systems.
At least the other versions feature the Purple Hills logo on the cover. And the two examples you provided are both published by Microids, not Anuman, so that might be another way of telling the digital versions apart.

As I said, it's a normal adventure game, like other Cryo games. Never played Part 1, but from what I saw, I think yes, they're similar. Resolution? Hmm, I think 1024x768, but not sure.

BTW, is french always the original language of the games since cryo is a french company? And then they would work from there for the localisation?

Hmmmm...I would like to play these Cryo games once again, but for example Atlantis has no Russian language, but it was localized in Russia by "1c and nival" www.softclub.ru/games/pc/19527-atlantida-2

I don't think it's a GOG-related problem, as the Atlantis games don't have the Russian language on other digital stores too. The problem is that the rights to the Russian localization are held by 1C/Nival, while the games are published by Anuman here and on other stores.

Yes to anything that gets more adventure games on gog. Dune is one of my all time favorite games!

There are some games like Etherlords with Russian language by Nival at GOG, but yes in Russia I couldn't buy now any Russian version of Atlantis, what i mean it will be great to gather all games with different official localizations.

Of course there a lot of work firstly to gather these old games on cloud-stores and then to think about the multicultural audience

Or like in Steam make some patches for languages. It's a shame that companies do not work in this direction

GOG doesn't have a problem with Nival or anything. The problem is that the current distributor/publisher of the Atlantis games (Anuman) has the localization rights to the English and some other languages, but not the Russian. To include Russian, Anuman would have to come to an agreement with Nival and Nival would like their own share from the game which would complicate things very quickly.

I decided to bump this thread, since there is a treasure trove of adventure classics with the cryo games just waiting to come to gog!

Maybe you could start by completing the Atlantis series with part4+5?
Or Lost Eden or the Versailles series?

I seriously would buy every Cryo game available! (if it is based on the best version, no simplified/butchered versions please)

GOG is famously silent on what old games they are bringing, apart from some judicious (or Judas-icious) hints along the way. I am hopeful they will secure these treasures eventually.

I think Cryo Interactive was one of the most brave game company in the 90s. They tried lots of experiments, not all succeeded but because of this spirit I always loved their games.

It doesn't seem so. At least, Mobygames doesn't have any info concerning a DVD re-release.
