catpower1980: Lost Eden is a must, I only played the demo back then but the atmosphere was great.
I forgot to say, another one that should be here. Really good, moving game. Have it on CD still as well.
So, any more Cryo games we forgot in our list?

Which games should be made available first from gog?
Almost too many to chose from, but I try:
I vote for Lost Eden, Atlantis 4+5, Salammbo, Versailles 1+2 (not the simplified purple hills version, DVD-ROM version which should be better), Odyssey: The Search for Ulysses, Faust, secret of the nautilus, Dune 1992 + 2001

I can't believe I've only played a handful of these titles. What happened to Cryo anyway?
They went out of business (partly or entirly because of the financial disaster of the 2001 dune game). After that, people from cryo made Atlantis 4+5 (Atlantis: Evolution, The Secrets of Atlantis: The Sacred Legacy) under the new company "Atlantis Interactive Entertainment".

After that I have no clue.
Does anybody know?: Did the original people start over under a new company, if yes what games did they release? Where do they work now?

Time Machine
Post edited July 10, 2014 by AdiJager
yeah, time machine seems to be quite good! But in 3rd person perspective, which could be interesting!
Anybody played it?

Bring it on, gog! :-)

The following titles are available DRM free on GG, published by Anuman Interactive. There shouldn't be much of an obstacle getting them to GOG, provide GOG has the interest.

Aztec
Cleopatra
Egypt 1156 BC Tomb of the Pharaoh
Egypt 2 - The Heliopolis Prophecy
Egypte 3 - The Egyptian Prophecy
Egypte Kids
Necronomicon - The Dawning of Darkness
Salammbo
Versailles II - Testament of the King

Further Cryo titles I'd like to add to the wishlist are:

Deo Gratias
Pax Corpus
Saga: Rage of the Vikings
UBIK
Thanks for this. Do you know if they are multi-language even though it says english?
Is Versailles II based on the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM version, and is it the original or the "simplified" version?

I also added the games to the list on page one.

If you'd like to see any of the mentioned cryo games on gog you can vote her and also leave a comment:

I do not know for sure. This is one of the reasons I don't buy from GG much anymore - they are pretty shoddy about giving you good information on the game. Sometimes you don't know what DRM is really on there, and sometimes you're just not getting the most current version (hello Paper Sorcerer).

It's quite possible these offer more languages and GG just hasn't bothered to properly display those.

I don't know that either, I'm afraid. However there are two other Versailles games put out by another publisher which seem to be more simplified games - Versailles Mysteries - Oscar and the Athanor and Versailles Mysteries - The Royal Spy. Both are published by Masque Publishing. Are these perhaps the games you mean? Or are the ones in question actually sold under the same names as the more complete versions from Cryo?

Anuman also puts out Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde Extended Edition, but this is probably a different game than the Cryo one on the same subject.

The Versailles games you linked to look more of the HOPA kind. They're also published directly by the devs DRM-free on ShinyLoot:
Versailles Mysteries: Oscar and the Athanor and Versailles Mysteries 2: The Royal Spy

Thanks. I didn't find any Versailles games for Purple Hills on Mobygames, so I was wondering if these might be the ones the OP was talking about. The Masque and the Anuman releases are the only Versailles titles I've turned up so far.
The Versailles games you posted are other games which I don't know, not from Cryo:

This is the german CD-ROM version of part 1:
http://www.amazon.de/Versailles-1685-Verschw%C3%B6rung-am-Hof/dp/3473651087/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405028075&sr=8-1&keywords=versailles+1685

This is the multi-language DVD-ROM version of part 1:
http://www.amazon.de/Versailles-Verschw%C3%B6rung-am-Hof-DVD-ROM/dp/B00005A5QT/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1405028075&sr=8-14&keywords=versailles+1685

german part 2 (original, not clear if this is CD-ROM or DVD-ROM):
http://www.amazon.de/Cyro-Versailles-2-Das-Testament/dp/B00005NSID/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1405028208&sr=8-9&keywords=versailles+1685

part 2 purple hills re-release, with lots of missing stuff:
http://www.amazon.de/Purple-Hills-Versailles-Testament-K%C3%B6nigs/dp/B00AHCLA1O/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1405028476&sr=1-1&keywords=versailles+purple+hills

according to the review on amazon game is devided in 3 parts, now with different menu, cursor/gameplay, additional "direction" arrows, missing intro text/partly missing text, subtitles now in pop-up box, missing tutorial, no map, every "main puzzle" is missing (is being skipped), ...

The box art on GG looks a lot like this one, only with the DICE logo where the Cryo logo would be. So perhaps it's the "proper" version.

This is what Mobygames says about Purple Hills:

Purple Hills is the label of the German company S.A.D. Software Vertriebs- und Produktions GmbH to publish and distribute games.

Maybe they just produce German-localised versions of games, perhaps exercising some of that famous German game censorship in the process. I've never heard of the company before this thread, and don't know if their versions are sold anywhere else.

EDIT: It looks like the game you posted is CD-ROM. I can just barely make out on the back of the box where it lists CD-ROM minimum and recommend speeds (lower left corner).

IAmSinistar: snip
I have a boxed version of Versailles 2 (in English) and it comes with 2 CDs. And it is normal adventure game, not HOG (or this weird, stupid term I will never use - HOPA :p).

You're right, it's the same game on amazon and GG (Versailles 2, CD-ROM version). But the language is different (english/german)

It's a possibility there is also a DVD-ROM version available. (maybe superior in terms of resolution/sound, I dont know), since for part 1 there is also a DVD-ROM version.

I think they are a label that (re)release "casual" games, and it's hit or miss depending on the title.
Some titles are in their original form if I remember correctly, but there is also the simplified crap version of "Amerzone" by purple Hills for example: http://www.amazon.de/Purple-Hills-Amerzone-Explorers-Legacy/dp/B007FBJRTW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405074424&sr=8-1&keywords=purple+hills+amerzone
