I am also among those who wish to play it on PC.

Haven't yet purchased the PC version elsewhere in the hope that it will show up DRM-Free on GOG sometime in the future. -_^

Thank you for the link Mrkgnao, Voted! ^_^
This is a topic discussed at length before. Do not expect anything published by Degica to appear here anymore, let alone the shmups; GOG folks don't think they are good fits for the store. Do yourself a favor, say screw you to GOG and go buy it on Steam. Deathsmiles is 30% and Mushihimesama is 50% off at the moment.

Begs the question, what are you still doing hanging out in here? :P

If I think a restaurant has terrible food, I go to a different restaurant. I don't keep going to the old one, ordering food, and telling everyone how much is sucks. :P

The topic confused me a bit. I thought you wanted to add grinning skull icons to the old games, because they're old and dead.

Welcome to the "still pissed of that Gog told degica that classic CAVE games are too niche for Gog™" club :-) ... you are not the only one waiting for those games to show up here....

Don't forget installing their malware client while you're at it.

Sorry, couldn't help myself :)

I can understand the frustration that some people have towards GOG's rejection of some games. What we should do is continuously let GOG know about our desire to have the games here in the first place. Hopefully that will encourage talks between the publishers and GOG to get them over here. Hopefully that results in something!

I'm not saying Steam's DRM is not bullshit, or that Steam is superior to GOG. I'm just extending a heartfelt "screw you" to GOG. There is a huge difference.

On another note, leaving DRM aside for a moment, GOG has made it crystal clear that they are no more pro-consumerist than Steam or the rest of the competition, in different ways. If you want to talk DRM, it is also a fact that GOG blocked Degica from having a profitable way to sell their games DRM free, despite the publisher's enthusiasm and transparency to the community. Or from a different perspective, GOG prevented us consumers from buying it, and supporting DRM freedom, so to speak. A pro-consumerist policy this is not.

Again, I'm not blaming anybody, but stating facts, because this is how businesses are run. As such I treat them likewise, I do business with them when it is convenient and profitable for me, but I have no stronger pledge of loyalty to them. Which makes me a far better supporter of pro-consumer competition than crazed GOG fanatics (this is not directed at you guys!).

EDIT: Anyway, this was just meant as a friendly reminder that if you MUST play Degica shmups, you HAVE TO do it on Steam, for lack of a better option.

If the publisher is willing to sell the DRM-free, aren't they available on other DRM-free stores then, like the Humble Store? Or did they turn Degica down too?

Anyway, it has happened numerous times before that GOG has later included games that first were rejected, if it really was only about GOG thinking the game is too niche (and not about the publisher refusing to play ball with GOG, even if it means Galaxy support...).

Yeah, Crimzon Clover came with a 2 year delay (alas, in an incomplete form, but still), so let's hope for the best.

AFAIK, there was an effort to deal with Humble at some point, which also fell through, but I don't know the details. I honestly don't expect to see anything decent on other platforms, itch.io et al. are probably out of the question due to their higher cuts, and probably a (once) high-end studio like Cave wouldn't want to be on there, you know, brand value issues and such.

I'm actually really confused about Degica right now, they said if GOG keeps rejecting them they'd release the Cave stuff on Humble DRM free, but when I look at the store right now... I see Steam keys.

Out of curiosity, what was incomplete about Crimzon Clover?
