inb4 we've decided it'll be for the best if it's locked as it, at the very least, isn't really going anywhere, and, by attracting attitudes that are no longer welcome and tolerated on the forum, it doesn't contribute to our efforts to keep the forum healthy and friendly.

If I made a game and it had backers who told me in droves that they had only backed my game because a certain racist youtuber was in it – even though that is impossible because the youtuber wasn't mentioned in the entire Kickstarter campaign – you bet I'd shitpost the living crap out of them.

Which is, after all, what always goes wrong. But, honestly, with the situation being as it is - and the situation is like in the attached cartoon unfortunately - how would it even be possible to discuss this issue by circumventing the wider cultural context? Doesn't that play into the hands of the "youtubers say the darndest things" people, who desperately try to separate the person from his world view?

If he didn't make specific stupid mistakes he might have succeeded, like bombing civilian towns, and the US getting involved in the war.

We can see repeatedly a very small number of people can influence and silence a much larger majority. You have the police for example who might have say a hundred but handle a town of twenty thousand. And people will respect them, either out of admiration, duty, or fear (either judicial or due to being armed).

But going back to JonTron, SJW's are very much affecting people they shouldn't. Very much 'stick with our narrative or be bullied into submission', and it's a repeat, you see it everywhere.

Did you watch the video posted in the thread earlier?

It isn't that a private company parted ways, it was they did it because of a handful of SJWs, and then when JonTron fans, who backed the game on kickstarter, said they wanted a refund or showed support for him, they were banned, kicked, thread locked.

Why was/is it OK for only one side to have a voice? That is the real issue.

There's nothing wrong with a healthy fear. I fear a snake, while i might also find them fascinating.

Islam and Muslims on the other hand are their own can of worms of a topic, and won't get into that here.
