Let's see if gog manages to get this one.
"Currently we do not support using the prologue save-file for the main game after launch."
So, just a warning that you might have to replay the first part of the game twice if you play the Prologue.

Heh, I was going to say that that color palette is very reminiscent of the C64, and then I found this on the game card: A palette inspired by the legendary Commodore 64 computer.
Aaaah... what a feast for the eyes! This game needs no demoing; I'm ready for it already.
i the use of color against the black backdrop. gives it a real dark fantasy / ultima 5 vibe.

can't come soon enough.

Excellent.

By the way - the composer for SKALD: Against the Black Priory, surt_r/Graverobber Foundation does games (dungeon crawlers rendered entirely in minimalistic TRON-style vector graphics, and also featuring his music) too:

c64-looking and not a roguelike? already better than most games these days.
I don't understand what's wrong with Unity but it is classic. Five minutes to launch and laggy movement and input feeling ingame. The requirements are not the problem.
At least the mouse is responsive.
A Shame because the game is amazing, indeed

GOG.com: Play SKALD: Against the Black Priory - The Prologue
The main game is already on my wishlist.
I can and will wait for the regular release.
But thanks, nonetheless. :)
This game looks interesting enough for me to try the demo, and to possibly see if my small laptop (which I prefer to use for this type of game) can run it. (It does appear to meet the requirements with its 1.6GHz Celeron CPU, integrated Intel graphics, and I should be able to find 250 MB of free space.)

By the way, it says to "take your party from level 1 to 20", but can you actually do that in the demo?

The demo/prologue seems to be one or two hours of gameplay. So I dont think so. Probably it is the level cap in the full game. It makes more sense
Holy shit an indie pixel art game by people who understand what both color palettes and pixel grids are? That's incredible! Wishlisted!
