Anyone else pirate games when low on cash and buy them when more cash is available?
I do that. Im not ashamed about this either.
If i had the money i would just test all games and if i like them buy them all but sadly my funds are limited.
I bought Witcher 2 because i wanted to play it anyways after i pirated and played Witcher 3 and liked it a lot. Going to buy Witcher 3 too when i got money.

The problem with buying games after pirating them to test them or because im low on money is the DRM or steam requirement. Cant get Bioshock on GOG and some other games i would love to get without DRM.
DRM hurts sales, it doesnt improve them because every game can be cracked and pirated.
And actual willing to pay in the future kind of people like me are stuck with not buying the game at all.

Thats why i got GOG Galaxy and support GOG and especially CDPR. They deserve all the money.

Dont hate the pirate (player, hate the king (steam).
I did when I was younger. Nowadays I have a steady income and don't buy titles when they're first released.

Don't be an idiot. Pirating games for any reason is illegal, and doing so just gives the wank stains who invent and support DRM reasons to keep on with it. Your life is not going to end if you don't play xyz game, your just being a 6 year old prick who needs the new shiny. I have played Witcher 1 and have Witcher 2 and yes I would like Witcher 3, but I am not paying that price. Do I get it by other means no, I will wait, get it later on when I feel its a better price - its no going to change if you play it now or then.
are you sure you're on the right forum?
No. I don't take other people's work without paying for it, because that would make me a scumbag.

I'd rather have less games and be able to feel good about myself.
I used to pirate games as a kid. Firstly, I had no real income. Secondly, there was no widespread internet and ways to buy them easily, you could only get them as a costly physical package and only if a retailer imported them (we're talking about Greece in the 90s) or at the local pirate cave. Again, no downloading, just giving money to pirates for physical copies which they probably got from some BBS.

I regret this for two reasons. First, game designers deserve their money. They work hard for our entertainment, and especially back then a lot of the games were fuckin' epic. I have now bought all of the games I've once pirated, more than one copy most of the time (on several retailers). Second reason is that back then, the physical copies came in boxes full of goodies. The ones I was able to find/afford had so much great stuff in the box that it was a joy in itself, nevermind the game.

I stand in my opinion that I shall never pirate a game ever again in my adult life. Even when I'm low in cash, I can wait for a discount. After all, I have games that can keep me occupied until I find a way to pay for that new game.

So... you have a PC capable of running The Witcher 3, but you don't have €10* a month to pay for your games? Sounds... like you wasted a lot of money on a graphics card that you should've spent for food or other necessities instead.

*€10? Yes, €10! Just put them away every month and spent them on 2+ years old games during the summer and winter sales. You'll get more games than you can play that way.

I did pay for a lot of games in the past, i even put money into Path of Exile which is entirely voluntary to pay.
And some games arent really timeless so waiting to afford them and then play isnt a good thing either.

GOG is DRM free for a reason. To make more money to the devs who make great games.

If a game is THAT bad that you wouldn't play it two years after its release, you'll definitely survive it not to play it at all. "I WANTZ TO PLAY IT NAO!!!!!!!1111oneeleven11one" isn't an excuse to pirate shit.

Nice stereotyping of me as the rich kid with the expensive PC. I got my PC in 2012 for like 500 Euro. Pre-built. So go on, tell me again how im such a bad person for not having a job and not being able to buy games.
Games make my life better by distracting me from the struggle of only having 300 Euro a month to eat.
I should have stayed in bed today. :P

You are an admitted criminal so I think that kills any right you have to chastise and or correct people on their forum conduct.

Minimum system requirement for The Witcher 3 is a HD 7870 (Release early 2012, price €350) or a GTX 660 (Release late 2012, Price €225). You won't find them in a pre-built €500 PC from 2012.

That's not what I'm doing. I'm telling you that you're a bad person because you think that other people don't deserve to get paid for their work.

Hartz IV isn't that bad. Move to any other country and see what you'll get there after years of unemployment. Hartz IV was never meant to buy games. And definitely not as an excuse to steal them!
