Arr mateys!

Okay I'll just stop that... Hmm I was just thinking of games that are both good and themed "piratey" if not set in the old "Age of Pirateys", then in the spirit... I'll make a quick favourite list here to show what I mean...

-For its possibility to be a space pirate: Privateer
-For the whole old pirate era: Sea Dogs
-For having a chance, if one so desires, to loot and murder in space: Space Rangers HD
-For being such classic piratey parodies ;) : The Monkey Island series... (GOG still waiting for the Curse of... aka part 3!)

Didn't include Port Royale, but maybe that should be there... I have played it a bit, and there are sea battles and ship maintenance and possibly more pirateyism, but then again there's a bit of property owning and such... so it's not a purely piratey endeavour, I think...
But I'm not taking this thing so seriously, just lookin' for som' jolly ol' scallywaggin', rum an' gunpowderey sea savvyness, arrr! ;)

So anybody care to pitch in, a fellow piratey fan? :p
Also if anyone's havin' thoughts of ideas and such, please include where that horribly happy robbery simulator might be found, if outside the salty waters of gog...

I should probably made a giveaway of it... but hmm maybe if this catches on, I'll do it later :) maybe. Oh me bones, I'm feelin' lightheaded.. no rum in a whole five minutes! :p
Still waiting for a pirate-themed FTL-like.
^Good idea.

I've had my eye on Pirates of Black Cove on steam for awhile, mixed reviews. I'm afraid I havn't found too much better than my old copy of Pirates of the Caribbean (Sea Dogs 2) in all things pirate-y.

Windward and Caribbean! are on Gog if I was in a pirate-y mood and had some extra cash. (Sorry, loot) I'm gunna stick them on my wishlist for a rainy day.

Well there's the not very good Pixel Piracy and the not that great Risen 2.
Two Worlds II has the Pirates of the Flying Fortress DLC.
And Kingdoms of Amalur has the 'The Legend of Dead Kel' DLC.
Oh and Borderlands 2 has the Captain Scarlett DLC.
Uhhh, well, there's Pirates!. I also think the Risen games are supposed to be a bit piratey, but they're more than that for their focus (not played, gotta do the Gothics first!)

Arr! Well said, guv! :)
Might be into buying Pirates of the Caribbean from steam, maybe when the winter sale storm gets fully on!
Ah, yesh... Windward went to my wishlist... would be nice to try a multiplayer! :)

Alrighty Sir!
Me ol' arms might not be ready for any mighty clickety click o' the Two Worlds 2 addition yet, but maybe after som' heavy resting with kegs'o'beer! :)

Aside the aforementioned games, there is also Corsairs Gold, Guild 2: Pirates of the European Seas and Tropico 2.
I don't know any good pirate games, but all this pirate speak reminds me that Minecraft has a Pirate language option...
Tropico 2 was quite nice and light hearted, although admittedly I didn't get too far into it.

Pretty sure NWN has a few pirate-themed mods, as well as Mount & Blade.

There's a pirate faction in Alpha Centauri, it doesn't feel very piratey though.

You can play as a space pirate in S.P.A.Z., the X series, and the Space Ranger series, although I personally wouldn't touch them with a 10 LY pole.

WoW has at least one pirate dungeon. I suppose it's low level enough to be played by trial accounts.

Hmm okay.. Risen.. Oh. Good to know! :)
Yeah, Pirates! Somehow thought there was something "wrong" with the gog version... Maybe I should get it and hell with the consequences! We be pirateiying! :) Let's see what's this all 'bout lads!

Thanks for you all by the way!

Although if we're not talking strictly PC games, Skies of Arcadia is a really awesome sci fi pirate JRPG.
That's not what a ship is, that's what a ship needs. What a ship really is, is freedom.
Out of all the fiction in all the world, Pirates are maybe my favorite.

♫Drink up me hearties yo ho.♫
Smugglers V has a pirate class and you can have your own pirate empire.

It was pretty good, it'd be nice if they made a HD remake/port.
It also made me think of Project Nomads and Stratosphere, both of which are not very pirate-y.
Monkey Island!
