Cambrey: Yes I do (using photofiltre). Is it too much ?

No, not at all. I am considering a D90 for my next camera so I am looking at your images with great interest. I noticed some banding / haloing and wondered if you had added some sharpening with an in camera function or possibly during editing. Sharpening an image adds halo / banding artifacts. I wanted to know it it was natural or as a result of sharpening. Wasn't meant as a critical comment . . . =)

I have nothing against critical comments. :) On the contrary.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "banding"... could you tell me on which pictures ?
I know that some pictures have noise due to the conversion.
The light was awful btw, and there were too many people around, that's why I just decided to shot in auto mode. :P

Sharpening basically increases the contrast between adjacent pixels. Darkening the dark pixels and lightening the light pixels. The added contrast gives the impression of a sharper image since the edge contrast is increased. I use it all the time myself . . . =)
Sorry for the poor description . . . =) . . . Some P&S cameras add the effect and I just wondered if the D90 was adding it automatically as well.

Ooh, now that you pointed it out, I see it. I knew what sharpening does to the picture, but I never paid attention to that kind of detail. I better pay attention the next time. I have learned something. Thanks !

The images are great, it's just me wondering how that nice D90 is processing the images . . . =)
I'm surprised to find a photography thread here in GoG. I also did some photography way back 2005 and currently on hiatus for almost a year now.

Very nice work, it would be interesting to hear what equipment you are using . . . =)
Very nice images Riddler. Awesome landscapes. :)
Thanks for the appreciation guys.
I'm using D50 and D200 with a bunch of nikkor glasses (12-24mm dx is my favorite especially for landscapes). I also have lots of singh-ray filters (graduated neutral density, polarizer, variable neutral density) which I use mostly for my landscape photos.

Some really nice gear . . . =)
On the B&W shots, are you doing those in camera or with editing software? Can you see any difference in the gray-scale tonal range between the D50 and the D200?
You should enter the screen shot contest . . . =)

Awesome! I'm primarily interested in Landscape Photography and you have some great ones!
@Stuff,
I usually shoot RAW and then do some post process work on it using Adobe Lightroom. The D200's tonal and dynamic range is a lot better than the D50. The D50 is better on high ISO's though, much cleaner and lesser noise than the notorious D200 high ISO.
@cw8,
Thanks for appreciating man. :)
Landscape photography is tough though. Perseverance and luck plays a huge role. Sometimes, the light isn't great and there is nothing you can do about it so you need to come back to that place again and shoot when the light is better. Creating great landscape photos means you need to be on the right place at the right time.
"Blue bricks", "Feuille", "Leaf" et "Souche" are my latest photos.
After Bansama's picture I'm in the mood for steampunk shots, but it's not easy to find a decent subject. :P

Nice work, you have sold me on the D90 . . . =)
Mine are kinda crap, can't afford a really good camera but here's some of mine
http://picasaweb.google.com/aliasalpha/Photos#
The first 12-13 rows were taken with my first digicam, a Kodak DC3200 that took a good half second to take a shot, getting remotely sharp images was a good test of my ability to stay still. After that it was my Canon Powsershot A75 which was like going from an S3 trio to a Geforce 4. The last 5 or so rows were with my Cann S5 IS which is a pretty good camera for the price but has the rather inconvenient feature of not fitting in my pocket so I've taken less photos than I used to.
I briefly contemplated a DSLR and might still do it in the future but for the short term I decided to go for a sweet gaming rig
