Just got an email, looks like an authentic gog email offering a unique discount and was about to click on it. Artwork and all, but email2.gog? And when I highlighted the 'trouble viewing this link' its another email2.gog.

I'm not putting it past scammers to ame a great 'gog' email with artwork and links that resemble authentic gog emails, but I've seen pretty good versions for facebook. Anyone getting these emails?

Oh, never mind, copied the code and put it on the gog website. Guess that worked out better. Just anxious in case someone comes up with a 'really good' scam email promotion.

As long as you don't click any links in such emails and just copy the codes to the shopping pages on GOG you should be able to avoid any scams even if the emails aren't legit.....so no need to worry....but if it doubt always send screens and such to GOG if you want to verify them.

(I'd send them via support ticket AND via social media if you use it....as often their social media can be faster.....though if you use social media make sure to scrub any personal info in said emails first)

Was this the email address:
newsletter@email2.gog.com

As for have that and checked the discount and it is from gog. They are opt in newsletters from your account, so I assume there are two different newsletters, hence the email2.
Look like a normal domain name from gog for promotional emails. I got emails from both of the following before.
newsletter@email2.gog.com
gogalaxy@email2.gog.com

Ditto i can confirm the newsletter email address; Not getting Gogalaxy but i don't have Galaxy so that might be why...
Yeah, just have to be careful. Got some pretty good emails from '@facebookmail' that were pretty convincing, and all they wanted was for me to click the link. So any variations to the usual domain make me suspicious.

Thought the artwork was 'pretty impressive'. Looked so authentic, so it really was a gog email....

They could use the actual artwork/url from the main site, wouldn't be too hard. Though Gog thumbnails (and uploaded images on facebook) tend to be hashed it looked like, so you'd have to know what was what ahead of time. At least regarding the facebookmail mentioned.

On anything questionable you can also select the source and look at it....

That's funny, I put gibberish into the e-mails and garbage email adresses like hardcore porn addresses and add those real DISGUSTING VILE ACTS lets just say with barnyard animals and other crooked stuff and send it as my e-mail address, Must cause all sorts of fun!
Well, I get a lot of E-Mails that tell me that there is something wrong with my Faceboob account or some order I made at Amazon or E-Bay. Thing is, I have NO Facebook account and I absolutely never ordered something via Amazon or E-Bay, so I know exactly what to do with such E-Mails: Off to the wastebin they go!

Use a trusted list, I.e. add the gog email address to the trust list and send anything else to spam. Just filters out those with different email addresses.

Hey! Don't worry, 2mail@gog.com and gogalaxy.com are our additional domains. We use them for GALAXY (gogalaxy.com) and newsletters (2mail@gog.com).
