Thanks :)

At first I was a bit sad that GOG.com didn't use DOSBox, but ScummVM works really well I must say. The release is much better than the Steam version, which uses a different Windows interpreter with poor music :(

I've done another video, not specific to any game, but of interest to older Windows games, mostly from the Windows XP era, that use EAX to enhance sound and music.

I had a Sound Blaster Z in my desktop, which, through ALchemy, restores EAX and surround (either over 5.1 speakers or virtually over headphones) sound. However I had to remove it because I needed the PCIe slot for a capture card.

So I purchased Sound Blaster X-Fi MB3, a software solution that uses the existing sound chip of your motherboard. It works really well and costs just USD 30.

Here is the review: Sound Blaster X-Fi MB3 Review

This is a review of the Sound Blaster X-Fi MB3, which is software that adds many of the features that Creative sound cards are well known for. Technologies such as SBX Pro Studio, Crystalizer, Surround, Bass, Dialog Plus, Smart Volume, EAX Advanced HD, ALchemy are included.

Thanks again for doing these. I've been enjoying them and find them very helpful.
Medal Of Honour Allied Assault Warchest GOG.com Tweak Guide

I warn you, this is a very long-winded and technical video, almost 30 minutes in length. However I cover a range of graphics tweaks, once you decided which you like most, the tweak is very simple to apply.

In regards to graphics I am covering:

- Enabling texture filtering in the graphics driver
- Enabling AA in the graphics driver
- Built-in resolution and centred GPU scaling
- Built-in resolution and aspect ratio GPU scaling
- Custom 4:3 resolution
- Custom widescreen resolution
- Dynamic Super resolution

In regards to audio I am covering:

- Enabling higher sample rate
- Configuring speaker settings
- Upgrading the game's audio drivers
- Enabling Hardware 3D Audio
- Configuring ALchemy with Creative cards
- Configuring Windows and Creative software for surround over headphones in Windows Vista and later

UPDATE: I overlooked an options screen "Advanced" which has more options. Make sure you set everything to the highest setting and also tick volumetric smoke. It's also here that you can enable subtitles.

Thank you for these guides. I don't any of the games you reviewed so far but two of them are on my wishlist and I'll come here when I have them.
What's the word on re-uploading the Ultimate DOSBox guide you had on your previous stream?

staticblast: What's the word on re-uploading the Ultimate DOSBox guide you had on your previous stream?
It had minimal views, and as you watch a few of the Tweak Guides, pretty much everything gets covered that way too.

Ah, cool. Had thought as much, but I wasn't quite sure. Thanks for making them!

On another note, have you ever tried the Patch93 SC-55 soundfont? It's missing the mkii's extra sounds, and there are a few mismatches here and there, but it sounds like a good option for someone who wants to emulate the SC-55 with a soundfont.
Really useful idea! Thanks and +1 for the effort!
Not a bad idea. I know the Tomb Raider games from gog.com always took some tweaking for me. And the widescreen fix also required me to dig up some settings from the tomb raider forums to get the fov a pixel match for the original 4:3 aspect.

Would be nice to have that stuff a little closer to the games. I have Wing Commander installed right now. I will look over your Wing Commander video later.
