You got a vote from me Sir.

I was searching for a reason why these essential things aren't implemented when I found this topic. What got me to replay is your last post mentioning the script... Tried it out and it improves the situation somewhat. Even adds barebone things like links to game forums straight from the store. Thank you for mentioning it here.

BenKii: I've been using the Barefoot Essentials user script for a couple weeks now and can say I love it a lot. It puts back all the notifications and does a whole lot of other neat stuff. All credit goes to its creator Barefoot_Monkey. If you see his avatar around, be sure to throw him a +1 for all the good work he's done. :)

And if you'd like to try this user script yourself, you can go to this link and follow the instructions on how to install in your browser.

I would still like to get native notifications back to the website so please keep voting guys. We've got 187 votes so far. Let's soar higher!
I always asked myself why GOG did not copy parts of the Barefoot Monkeys user script and added it to their own website functionality? It would be a super cheap thing, and would improve their stuff quite a lot. Having an example of something better and not copying it right away seems to be a sign of supreme ignorance. But hey, maybe they actually discussed it and had their reasons... I wouldn't know.

Maybe the subtle message did evade you somehow, I think it is "Use Galaxy!".
Notifications are optional.

Thanks for the vote. :)

It is now the 1st of June and the notifications are still busted. Never give up! Never surrender! Keep voting!
Yay! We're now over 200 votes! Nothing's gonna stop us from getting notifications back. Keep the votes coming. :D

GOG does.
The notification hasn't worked for sometime now. At least for my account. So if somebody responds to me in the forums there is no notification. If somebody send a pm/chat to pm there is no notification. Same for library updates, changes.
It was already problematic before store update but since that happened notifications have been totally gone.

Voted for it!

But you're supposed to use Galaxy! ;)
Voted, also.

I hope "eventually" will mean something more than "one year or another" :P

Never! If Gog tells me I have to use their "optional" client then I won't. I'm a rebel at heart. :P

Thank you as well. :-)
it's pretty annoying having no notification for game updates through the GOG site anymore... so what I need to have Galaxy just to know/get these updates? seems like a force of features and not optional from what they described on the trailers..

I want this back to know what the hell has been updated instead of manually going into each sub forum and trying to find out if there is an update.

I voted of course but sadly I think nothing will come from it; game updates notifications were lacking even before this total removal and since GOG Galaxy is becoming less optional every day; this feature is probably never coming back!

Hey, I was one of the first voters in there!
Not that I have any hope left.
