About a week ago when Gog introduced the new navigation system, we lost notifications for game updates, friend requests, forum and PM replies. At first I thought this was a bug but after a week I'm convinced Gog intended to leave it out. I've since created a Community Wishlist Entry in an effort to let Gog know we still want and like this feature. At the time of this writing, it stands at 35 votes. I ask that anyone who liked this feature vote for it and sound off in the comments below. If enough of our voices are heard, Gog will have no choice but to bring this feature back.

Until Gog can resolve this issue, you can use Barefoot_Monkey's Barefoot Essentials script to get the notifications back. Go here to read up on how to install it in your browser.

They always have a choice to ignore the community, which they often do.
why the heck would they do that? that'd be pretty stupid if you ask me.
Raise your pitchforks, guys, and show dem how we want it!
how are we supposed to know when games are updated (besides the "what did just update" thread)? id say this is actually pretty critical, especially for those of us that like keeping our installers up to date.

gog, why don't you create an official "updates" thread or something?

Voted, although I do use Barefoot Essentials. I've got to think it's an oversight/bug though. Can't imagine they purposely nuked the notifications of game updates at the very least.

Fairfox: Mebbe it's a nu feature; you just has to randomly download ('n' play) gamies in case they're updated. WHAT AN ADVENTURE (capscapscaps).
teusdays new game is "guess which game just updated and randomly download games out of your vast collection and hope you get it right" lol.

i should hope not. that is, unless they're making a push to abandon installers to try and get users to go the galaxy route. i don't mind galaxy and i think it's awesome that gog has a client + the option to download nicely wrapped installers, a niche steam does not fill, though galaxy (and steam) aren't really for me.

You should still be able to check the "updated" category in your games library.

That said, I liked the old notifications too. I wonder if this is another attempt to push people towards their Galaxy client.

If this is what they're doing, it will backfire in my case. The more they try to subtly or not-so-subtly force me to use a piece of software I don't feel I need, the less likely I'll be to use it.

indeed, same here, 100%. it'd be nice to get an official response from a blue on this.

I suggest they take away the function of the letter "e" next.

Make that a quadruple ditto with a nod to Smannesman for added effect.
