Hi there!

My name is Chris Mitchell from the Science and Engineering Faculty, from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). I’m currently doing an Honours Degree which is investigating design aspects of video games that may be beneficial for older adults here in Australia. Before I continue any further I want to make it as clear as I can that I have no disingenuous intent with this link. I'm not posting this to scam people or steal their personal information for personal gain. This is a true survey that only wishes to gather data from participants who are willing and interested enough to get involved. Is it okay for me to post the survey link on the forums?

Many thanks for your consideration of this request!!

Chris Mitchell

Looks fake, the name of the principal researcher doesn't even have consistent spelling.

Apart from that, how many 55+ year old Australians use the forum anyway? Probably not many.
We've seen a couple of research and other surveys here, GOG has never voiced any objections. And folks don't even ask for permission to post them, so no worries. ;)

With your rep level though, you may not be able to post links yet.

And I must agree with Lucumo that finding 55+ Australians in here may be difficult.

No one said that you have to participate or am wrong?

Exactly. So I have no idea where you are getting that from.

It may have something to do with your *Looks fake* bit which is totally inappropriate, that is unless you are a moderator? I hope that answers your question.

I could have also put a ":P" behind it, if that pleases you. Nothing wrong with pointing out weird mistakes in a document like that. In a similar vein, I put more information out in the second part, mentioning that the survey would only be relevant to a certain group which would spare people reading this thread some time, as it was missing from the OP.

Bombvoyage: *snip*
I mean, that's rad and all, but a couple of points:
1. GOG staff kind of rarely reads the forum (save for one forum mod who's a bit more active these days than they used to be in the past), you'd have been better off directly emailing them to ask this, it would net you a quicker response.
2. That's a really specific population you're looking for, and this is an international forum. You're not bound to find that many Australians who are that old here. The forum's kind of small as it is.
3. I don't know exactly what kind of project you're doing, but you might have better luck and a less biased result if you give this out in paper too in real life rather than just online. Otherwise you're only going to get a sample of seniors who already know enough to figure out how to fill out an internet survey and thus are already far more tech-savvy or with favorable views of technology than most.
I could pretend to be an old Australian, if that helps...

Yes,''P'' would of helped.
