bjgamer: 1) Bring a favorite guest
Eye of the Beholder and Master of Magic - These were my first ever serious games on PC and they heavily defined my taste for pixel fantasy turn based strategies and roguelikes.

FTL: Advanced Edition - There can not be my truly recommended games list without the mention of FTL.

Darkest Dungeon - Some people hate this game but I love it as it has everything I need to have fun.

Darkwood - The game seems to be very "innocent" at first but I would recommend it to every mystery / horror games fan.

bjgamer: 2) Make a gaming New Year's resolution
My serious resolution for this year is: to learn enough of Unity engine to bring my first own Unity game to life.
Unity allows to create final code for different OSes so Linux will be also on my list.

HypersomniacLive: So, my New Year's resolution is to send Indiana on his adventure in the company of... a Penguin, which will mark the beginning of many other adventures led by Penguins.
Wonderful resolution! Welcome to the Penguin Lovers club, may you have many fun adventures ... and dancing! :)

babark: 3) I'd like to be in for Ori and the Blind Forest, which I see is playable with playit. Thanks!

TheDudeLebowski: I'm in for Mutant: Year Zero.
Please edit your choices if you wish to qualify. These games are not 'marked by a Penguin' on GOG. For this party and price point I am trying to help encourage GOG and devs to feature more Linux games - thus only games which state Linux on the game card and is marked with a penguin symbol by the title. You can search GOG's list thru (Store > Browse all games > All games for Linux) or the GOG 'Penguin marked' Linux games link in the OP.
I'm in.
1. My favorite game for this year is Enter the Gungeon. The large amount of guns and effects makes each run unique and quirky.
2. I resolve to not compusively 100% each game.
3. I would like to be in for Dead Cells please.

Dark_art_: Not in but thanks for the generosity.

Favorite Linux game is good old Battle for Wesnoth but Dirt Rally deserve the best port award. Unlike many other high profile Linux ports that run like a scalped pig, including CS-GO (might be better now), Feral's Dirt Rally is so smooth, runs like a dream, way better than in Windows.

New year resolution finish more games and sop playing the same games again and again.

Penguin dance
I feel you on playing the same games over and over again. This last year I branched out and played Distant Worlds Universe and it was awesome! It did take a while to get up to speed with it though. I think that is why I go back to my old favorites, it's a comfort thing. I can just sit down and enjoy it and not worry about how everything works.
Hi bjgamer and thanks for your generosity!!
I'm in!

One of my favorite Linux capable games (and which I really played on Linux) are: Baldur's Gate I & II (Enhanced Edition)

Instead one of the game I think would be great to play on Linux but I'ven't played yet on the Penguin, is Pathfinder Kingmaker
okay I've to admit I haven't found yet the courage to install Linux on the PC with my gaming videocard, I've what I call 'gaming pc' with windows and all the necessary to play, and several other PCs with some different windows/linux distribution, so the Linux machines I own don't have video cards (only the I3 or I5 integrated one) so at the moment I just played only 'lightweight' games on them

My New Year's Resolution is: to complete by june 2020 all the games I got in the latest sales (they are not too many)

The Penguin I'd like to win is: Cathedral

Good luck everyone and happy new year!!

Sorry! Mixed your rule 1 and 3. It is a noble goal, so I've edited it now.

babark: 3) I'd like to be in for Dead Cells, which I see carries the mark of the (penguin) beast. Thanks!
LOL! Good choice! Qualifies, you are good to 'Dance with a Penguin'. :)
Hello. Thank you for the invitation to this most excelent party! I hope I'm dressed right.

1) Bring a favorite guest
I really have trouble picking favourites. My personal preferences lean more towards strategy and RPG games, that are complex and take a lot of time to complete (and that alone explains my poor game completion ratio). However these holidays I spent time with the family and and small kids. I pulled out Conga Master. At first I thought the game was silly and totally not my kind of game, but after seeing a Youtube video on it, I figured it would be a fun game to play for children to play. It is colourful, light-hearted, silly, simple and just fun. And sure enough, the kids loved it and even grown-ups who never play games were able to join in (4 players on one machine — sweet!). This is what Christmas is about: getting together and having a good time! This is why I am mentioning this game.
Other games I enjoy playing on Linux include FreeCiv, OpenTTD, Battle for Wesnoth, Endgame: Singularity and OpenXcom. There are many fine Free games on Linux.

2) Make a gaming New Year's resolution
Ah, I don't align my projects on arbitrary frames such as calendars, but I do have some short-term goals. One of them is making a backup of my GOG library and get my games stored (on an installed form) into a system that makes it easy to pull in a new game into a computing system (my main desktop, an old desktop I keep around, my Raspberry Pi, a laptop, ...).
It is really annoying when I want to show a friend a neat game I played a while ago and... oh, it is no longer installed, so I need to get it, install it and... Darn! Insufficient space! Now, what can I remove to make room?... Maybe this one? Or that thing? Just a second! OK, I think I got it now! I is installing so wait a little bit more. Now I need to set it up and... my friend has already left to do something else! :-(
If I get something working I'll post about it.

3) Dance with a Penguin
My most wanted game on GOG is Kerbal Space Program, which runs natively on Linux. I think it can also provide a great time with the kids on my family and learn something at the same time.
A New Year's Eve party? I love it! Would you be so kind as to add me to the invitation list?

I shall bring as my guest to this party Alan Wake, from adamhm's wrappers. If our host hasn't been introduced, this is a superb game from the esteemed creators of Max Payne. If you like thrillers, you should absolutely try this

Resolution: Introduce at least one new person to gaming. A difficult undertaking, to be sure, as I may be forced to interact with people in—ugh—meat world. Nevertheless, I shall not waver from my holy quest. I would also love to submit my first TV script, although frankly I have no idea what I'll be getting myself into.

I choose as my penguin partner the lovely Hollow Knight. I'm a big fan of games with hand drawn graphics, so it saddens me that most are either pixel art or CGI.
This giveaway will end midnight UTC December 31st 2019, or 7:00 PM EST on 12/31/2019 in the USA. (-5 hour time difference)
1. One of my favorites is Project Zomboid. It's an early access game from years ago that's still getting an update to this day. And it still scares me every time a zombie sneaking up on me because one bite is all it takes. Also, the Raccoon is cute.
And it is the first game that I got for free from other users back in August 2018, in the GOG community giveaway. Thanks again DampSquib and zeogold!

2. My New Year's Resolution is to learn the Esperanto language more and finishing The Expression Amrilato (a penguin). Thanks, clarry and adamhm.

3. The Penguin I'd like to win is Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark.

Wishing a very Happy New Year 2020 to all forum dweller who adds sunshine to GOG community.
Let's party, Penguins!

edit: the prize choice.
I appreciate the opportunity to compete.
